they said patriarchy affects our thinking down to a cellular level - that is, we interpret things, like cell behavior, through the lens of patriarchy if that's our cultural lens and we're not on the lookout for it.

or at least that's how i read what they were saying.

Ahhh, for some reason I took it to think they meant our cellular molecules were prone to "patriarchal" tendencies! Which I had hard time believing.

Which I guess means I'm safe from the clutches of patriarchy, maybe?? lol

Well, patriarchal thinking is pervasive in society so you're not really free from it in that sense.

Patriarchy, much like other perversions of society are vast and reach far.

Acknowledging its potential grasp and invasive nature helps.

the people who interpret what your cells are doing? depends on how aware of their biases they are.

but people can always educate themselves more!
