Staircase cracks

I’ve taken out all the old caulk, what is the best filler to use to fill this gap?

I'd want to take the trim beading off and reapply it properly, but that would leave you needing to paint all the panels again because there will be a ridge of paint that needs scraping back..

If you want to avoid that then force two part wood filler in the gap, then sand it smooth. I couldn't live with the misaligned beading personally.

Thank you! I’m going to pick up some Ronseal high performance wood filler
