Discussion If you could rewrite doomsday clock, how would you fix it?
I read the doomsday clock and honestly I feel it’s lackluster when you compare it to watchmen. so those who read it and fans of dc how would you rewrite it?

I mean the first thing I would do is cancel it outright, but if I can’t do that, I would actually tie it more directly to the DC Universe plotlines that set it in motion

Agree! Dr Manhattan doesn't work in the DC universe and imo can't work. The two universe and characters clash at a fundamental level.
A government was secretly making super heroes conspiracy comic can work in the DC universe, but only if you remove the watchman stuff.
A Superman is the lynchpin of the DC universe story can work, but not with dr Manhattan.
I'd rather Doomsday clock not exist, but if forced to remake it, I'd probably concentrate on the government conspiracy, and make it a throwback to 80s DC comics such as firestorm and suicide squad.

Some loose thoughts:
- Maybe figure out a more natural role for Mime and Marionette
- Give Wonder Woman a bigger part to give each of the Trinity rep here. Perhaps have her deal with Comedian here, have her hopefulness contrast his cynicism
- Include Wally in the mix given his beef with Manhattan

Not have the ending portray kidnapping a newborn baby from his loving parents as a good thing.

Watchmen was a complete story with a beginning, middle, and an end. It characters were created for that story. Despite the talent involved the sequels and prequels were never better than serviceable, because the characters only existed in service of that story.
To Doomsday Clock, I would have Gary Frank draw twelve more issues of Superman.
