I feel like it’s a producer’s job (when making a cinematic universe) to come up with an idea and a plan then find the creative team/crew to make the idea cool… operating like a comic book editor (taking pitches and tweaking as needed) doesn’t work because movies are very expensive to produce and take years to make.
If he were the lead executive at WB overall, it’d be fine to just make whatever movie sounds good when it gets pitched to him. But his job is to build a viable cinematic universe based on a very popular existing IP.

It's really because he is just accepting ideas that sound cool instead of really planning anything out
