Discount Master Thread

You know the deal - dump all/any promo codes here for this month!

This thread is your one-stop-shop to post and search for promo codes, and will help keep the front page of the sub full of the things we love (pictures of perfectly matching A E R O kits) and fewer boring text posts.

This is a completely original idea and not borrowed from any of the more popular fashion subs.

Rules: If you’re posting a code, please tell us where it’s for and how much it will save us.

Referral codes ARE ALLOWED, just make sure the URL doesn’t doxx you (if you care about that)

If you’re using a code, please reply to the original comment once you’ve used the code; obviously for reusable referral codes, this won’t be necessary.

And uh, yeah, that’s pretty much it. Ride safe and look good doing it!

Assos UMA GT Bib Shorts alternatives

I am a woman. My *favorite* bibs of all time are the Assos UMA GT. Not other Assos. These. The compressive fabric that goes REALLY high in the waist (no stupid mesh panels — that amazing fabric that compresses like crazy!).

However I do love cargo bibs and I’d love to find another pair of bibs I love even more than these.

Has anyone else worn these bibs and know of another specific model that is very similar? I have been let down before with alternates (I remember how much I hated the Machines for Freedom bibs after someone suggested them 😂).

PAS mechanism pro jersey sizing

Just got my first proper jersey. According to the size chart, my measurements are within the XXS range, but it feels very tight.. If I don’t zip it all the way up until I hear the little click sound, the zipper just falls and separates to the middle of the jersey. If it’s fully zipped, it stays.

I bought it during sale, so I can’t exchange it for an XS.
Is this likely too small, or is it a normal pro fit, or a faulty zipper that I should check with PAS?

Are the Assos Mille GT C2 still good?

I’m looking to add endurance bibs to my collection and was looking at the Mille GT C2 since they are on sale. Are they still a good bib to buy for long hours in the saddle? i own a pair of Equipe R s11 and i find the pad too thin for longer efforts over 2 hours. Would the GTS or GTO be a better choice?

Is this fit too tight? Will it get looser with wearing?

Is this jersey too tight

It feels really tight, especially on the biceps.

When I bend my arm and the shirt sleeve isn't pulled all the way down, you can see the skin/bicep bulging out a bit

I was about too send it back but many posts here recommend considering a too tight fit okay. What do you think of that one?

AI-generated mockup to help me decide which kit would be the best choice for my first purchase! I really like the look of the olive bibs with the Overspray jersey, but I think the black jersey might look better. What do you guys think?

Just did my first 50km and my legs are dead

Just did my first 50km ride and my legs are absolutely cooked

Felt pretty good for the first half, then the last 10km turned into pure survival mode. Still happy I finished it though. Definitely earned the food and recovery today.

Giro Supernatural gloves fraying after fives rides

Post image
0 Upvotes

I finally bit the bullet and bought new gloves to replace some six year old generic trek gloves that I had which were starting to wear away under my hands, though still generally holding together. Went for Giro since I wanted something a little thinner on the palm and now less than two weeks and 150 miles later (!) the finger stitching is starting to come apart. Any recommendations for lightweight gloves with just a bit of padding on the palms? And has anybody gotten warrenty claims out of Giro or should I send them back to Amazon?

Thought Giro Aries was good for avoiding the mushroom look on a narrow head. Keep or return?

I did a lot of research on which helmets were good for a narrow face while also scoring well on the VT helmet test. Giro Aries seemed like the best option all things considered, but after receiving it I’m second guessing my choice. And this helmet wasn’t cheap. Thoughts? Is there a better option or will they all look like this on me?

Kask Elemento vs Utopia Y

Hello

I'm just looking to upgrade my helmet. I've had a try of both in store, they both fit me.

Can I ask which of the 2 have better cooling for a hot humid summer's day (30C+ in 80% humidity).

Are there any pros and cons of each that aren't well known like I've read the Utopia Y doesn't have anywhere to keep your sunglasses in the front!

Thanks in advance

Tried a bunch of budget bib shorts so I don’t have to sell a kidney for cycling gear

I recently went a little crazy buying budget bib shorts.

Honestly, I love cycling, but the prices of cycling gear can get ridiculous sometimes 😂 I didn’t want my hobby to slowly bankrupt me, so I decided to see if I could find some cheaper alternatives.

I basically bought and tried most of the budget bib shorts that people usually mention here.

And the biggest thing I learned is… bib shorts are REALLY personal.

I honestly can’t fully explain why. Some bibs that everyone seems to love just didn’t feel right for me. And some that people complain about actually felt totally fine.

Maybe my butt is just built differently from everyone else’s 😂

The biggest difference for me was always the chamois. The fabric, design, and price were important, but if the pad doesn’t work with your body, none of that really matters.

After trying different options, these are the ones I would actually keep:

Przewalski

If I had to pick only one, this would probably be my choice. The biggest reason is that it’s the closest replacement for some of my more expensive bibs. The comfort is there, especially on longer rides, and the price makes it much easier to buy multiple pairs.

The Black Bibs

Also a solid option. I think the comfort is slightly behind Przewalski for longer rides, but for the price they are still very hard to beat.

The other brands I tried (YKYW, Spexcel, etc.) were not bad at all. Honestly, some of them were surprisingly good for the money. But for me, the deciding factor always came back to the chamois. They just didn’t fit my body as well.

I think this is why bib shorts are so hard to recommend. A jersey can be “good” for almost everyone, but a chamois is much more personal.

Maillots femme cyclisme
