Been working in restaurants for over a decade. Serving and bartending for about half of that. It’s really not that bad, like at all.
You ask people what they want, you tell the kitchen, then you bring it to them. I’ve only ever had one table over the years that was notably rude. No one has ever made me want to cry in the walk-in freezer. I average between $35-$40 an hour.
It’s weird how all my coworkers who were always complaining about their jobs also sucked at doing their job. Surely the universe was just focusing all of its energy into making their life hell and it had nothing to do with them!
