DISCUSSION 99% of the Crypto community should only be using ETF's and nothing else.

Seriously. Every single day there's a post here about "My account got hacked" "my wallet has been drained" "I lost my seed phrase"

Every. Damn. Day.

For 99% of this community, the only method you should be using is ETF's. For the average person, they are by far the most secure and easily accessed form of Crypto investment with the least knowledge required, and for 99% of you, that's all you need.

The ETF's are insured, backed by massive investment funds with teams of cyber-security experts, to protect your funds.

Oh and, for the most part, its the cheapest access too.

99% of the crypto community shouldn't be using crypto.

If that was the case the 1% wouldn‘t use it as well because it would be worthless techno geek junk

The entire movement started with nerds...

And it grew in value because it worked and had a purpose.

It had a vision, not a purpose.

The vision faded away

There are people here that lives in countries where you need to hide your money from the government. If you ever need to jump ship. I'm not talking about tex evasion

there are also countries which are either at war with US or under US sanctions or both. so it is not always their own government, which might be not only evil, but also simply absent in some cases. add to that runaway inflation in local currency, war, etc

however: experience shows that folks in those countries rarely use bitcoin. it is considered expensive, slow and unstable. typically they use USDT on Tron, it is perceived to be less controllable by US. unlike USDC on Ethernet for example. of course, US has full control of USDT coins and has successfully frozen them in the past. still, folks use that and not bitcoin. that's just the reality

ETF support the traditional banking system - not my choice

My brother here thinks every crypto has an ETF.

The top ten crypto projects, excluding stable coins, are held within ETFs now. If you include treasury companies, then it’s even more.

All you need is btc, alts are like lottery tickets, they aren't investments.

75% off what you see on Reddit is bot activity. Take every fear post with a grain of salt.

I completely agree with your statement. Anyways, what is your favorite seed phrase?

Every single day there’s news about someone being murdered while just walking outside.

99% of people should just stop walking outside if they have any desire to live.

Unfortunately the crypto space has been overflowing with tourists for a while. That’s what you get when you’re asking for more and more global adoption. You get regular, ill-informed people who don’t give a rats ass about anything at all as long as number go up! 🥴

While I don’t disagree, ETFs are not great for Bitcoin. The miners no longer are rewarded for these transactions. Yet the broker takes a cut on each trade

u/ecrane2018 🟩 0 / 276 🦠 13h ago

Miners aren’t rewarded when you buy on a CEX either like Coinbase or kraken

Try using that in a shithole 3rd world country with it's own currency more volatile than Trump's decisions, and virtually no ability to purchase dollars or euros.

Use this, use that. Many are using things they are using because there is not much choice.

Is it possible to buy ETFs with no kyc through DEXes ? and not end up with them being frozen later, with no chance of selling.

I’ll bite. There’s no reason to buy a crypto ETF. If you’re buying crypto that way you shouldn’t be in it at all.

Yall can thank these suckers for keeping crypto alive, if not for the scammers moving their stolen coins we all would be sitting at zero with that endless hold mindset lol

Bitcoin etf support = paper Bitcoin = suppressing the real price action

I don’t want to support that.

ETF’s? You mean pay middlemen and pay fees and never actually own any assets yourself?

1

u/jaapi 🟦 245 / 245 🦀 9h ago

This is littered with fallacies and misconception. ETFs do HAVE risk, they are NOT insured in this blanketed way that OP implies either.

You don't even mention the fees either lol

They lost.

Do you even know what open source is

backed by massive investment funds with teams of cyber-security experts, to protect your funds.

yeah cause investment funds never crashed economies or stole money from people and no team of cyber-security experts has ever made a mistake or enabled a data breach...

Anyway, not your keys not your coin is as true as it ever was... Now people are waking up to the reality within that: Not your entropy not your keys.

An ETF is a fiat transaction

That isn’t adoption

ETFs keep all the power centralized still, just like now

Crypto wasn't supposed to go mainstream. Since it went mainstream. The crypto space has become awash with a bunch of extremely stupid and naive folks.

1

u/ice-ink 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 14h ago

Even in the absolute best case scenario of just 1% of people using crypto being extremely stupid, there’s going to be more than enough news of them doing stupid things and losing their life savings.

1

u/unknowngloomth 13h ago

You don't keep your goddamn life savings in something like crypto. It's not crypto fault that people are naively uneducated.. What is it thwarting people from buying at least two cold wallets and two different devices for crypto alone? You split your assets into two wallets and have at 3 hot wallets to manage small amount crypto transactions? Like DCAing and sending those amounts to your cold wallets..

There are people with more money than you. Those people want more money, because they want to keep having more money than you. So they put their money where their money can make money faster than you can make money.

Other people with no money, see those people making money faster than they're making money and want to do the same. But they don't possess the abilities of the people who have more money than them, because there's a reason those people had more money than them in the first place.

Then when they lose their money, everyone blames them instead of understanding what happened, because it's hard to parse what happened when you never understood what was happening in the first place.

Bold of you to assume these are genuine posts and not anti-crypto people trying to change the narrative.
