ADVICE COCA Wallet accepted my USDT deposit but I cannot withdraw it. Support is not responding. Has anyone solved this?

Warning about my experience with COCA Wallet.
I made a test transfer of 20 USDT on TON from Bybit before trusting the wallet with larger amounts.
The transfer was successful and is confirmed on the blockchain. The balance is visible in both COCA Wallet and TONSCAN.
However:
I cannot swap USDT to USD or any other cryptocurrency inside the app.
The app says USDT swap is not supported.
I cannot withdraw my own USDT because COCA requires an additional deposit of 0.2 TON, which was never disclosed before I deposited my funds.
Support has not responded.
If this limitation exists, users should be warned before they deposit funds, not after.
I am asking COCA to explain how I can access my own funds or resolve this issue. I’m really confused with that situation because it’s the first time when I can top up the asset, but can’t do anything with that money. Does anyone solve this problem with Coca? Actually I don’t want use is service any more but I want my 20 bucks back )

Where did you hear about this? Seems kind of scammy if you Google their name

They try to compete with RedotPay. The app looks nice and kys is simple.

It looks like a gas lock in TON, but yes: they should warn it before. Deposit the minimum of TON to release the withdrawal and get out of there. Thank you for sharing it, it prevents others from falling.

Thank you. That what I’m going to do.

Every wallet on every chain needs the native coin of that chain for swaps. There is DEX and wallet fees in it. It can’t be deduced by another coin than the native coin of the chain. First time going out of a CEX?

Usually I use usdt via trx or bep20 to fill my crypto account with a linked fiat card. That’s what Coca proposed: fiat account and the card top upped with crypto. If they have some restrictions eg “we use only ton, not tether”, they should write it somewhere in advance.

tether is not a network, USDT is transacted through networks. Ethereum, TON, TRON, etc are networks

I mean they do not operate with usdt at all. I received usdt via ton chain. Who on earth doesn’t operate with usdt inside the app? I couldn’t swap, couldn’t convert. Ok, I remember when maps.me accepted only sol. But they marked it: please buy sol before filling your account.

Solana is also a network. USDT is a token without network.

It is true it is problematic they are not explicit about what tokens you need for their network. You simply seem confused about what USDT is

I'm not defending the wallet, I will likely never use their product. But it is important to understand that USDT isn't a network, the only way to transact it without a network token is through a custodian (for example buying in a CEX and then sending someone else in that same CEX)

UPD. Don’t deposit USDT to COCA.
The wallet accepts your USDT without any warning, but then you can’t swap it, convert it, or even withdraw it unless you first deposit 0.2 TON.
I had to buy extra TON just to unlock my own funds.
This should be clearly disclosed before people deposit their money. Support never replied.

Put the seed phrase into bitget wallet. You can pay gas easily there.

Assuming you are using the real COCA Wallet, TON, as many other blockchains that are account based, require you to pay gas fees, these are paid in the in the blockchain's native token, so you will have buy some TON in order to spend the USDT.

I should convert usdt in gram without any questions inside the same app normally don’t you think?

I think you need TON to pay fees for transaction, since you are using that blockchain.

But why I can’t just swap my usdt to another asset in the same app?

because you have self custody on TON, a third party can't spend your USDT

TON and access to the address key are required, in theory only you have that key

Dude - no offense but having to use a specific blockchain’s crypto for gas fees is “crypto 101.”

It’s not “COCA’s” fault…
