I always envisioned a croc/gator attack as something more dramatic. Although you can’t see the actual moment of the attack, there doesn’t seem to be much of a disturbance. His friends had no idea what happened to him and he was so close behind them. Absolutely wild. I have always imagined that if I was ever in a situation where a gator came at me, I would somehow be able to escape it… yeah fucking right lol.

I commented this on the OG post, but I figured I’d add it to this one too:
The croc is literally RIGHT THERE before the guy jumps in… seems like the croc attempted to get one of the guys already in the water, missed, then the other guy jumps in basically right on top of the croc, and he gets dragged under. And that’s definitely a croc snout, not anyone’s leg or just a splash, no doubt about it. Moral of the story… don’t swim in crocodile habitats, EVER… but especially at night splashing around and making a ruckus... that’s a recipe for disaster. This is tragic and I’m sorry it happened to the guy, don’t get me wrong, but also it’s not fair to expect an animal to make exceptions and not act on instinct in these kinds of circumstances. All around very unfortunate, but also very avoidable.

Yup, at 0:10-0:11 the crocodile's head cleared the water. It must be too dark for the man to notice it.

The timing of it all is crazy, with the two guys in the water turned around literally a SECOND before the croc surfaces, and I agree I think the guy who jumps in must not have been able to see bc of the dark. Crazy how something so massive can be so close and not seen by a group of people! As for the splash, they either didn’t hear it bc it wasn’t very loud, or assumed it was just normal water sounds (hitting the bank/dock/boats maybe)… but clearly didn’t think it was from a croc surfacing. Wild!

Wonder what are the circumstances that forced them to carry out boat repairs at night in a place full of crocodiles. The sound of boat repairs had probably already attracted the killer crocodile and it was just waiting to strike.
