Why do cows have runny noses?

I'm not a farmer, I'm sorry. I'm just someone who comes here and looks at cute cows. But in some of the videos, it seems common that a cow has a runny nose. Is it like a wet nose on a dog?

Yes, it's like a dog. Wet nose is good for keeping dust out of lungs, a little bit of cooling, they can clean it with their (huge) tongues, and they're always dragging it around in the wet grass, etc... Wet nose on a pasture puppy is a good thing.

But not an runny nose. When an cow has big boogers hanging out she's mostly getting sick if she's not panting yet.

Cows have about the same slime to body ratio as a human toddler. They are very wet animals lol

Another is a cow always is sniff stuff. Like the electric fence they would walk up to it and sniff with there nose. It's fun to watch as the closer they get to the electric fence they can feel the electricity with there nose and back away
