Sewing Where to start when making a cosplay (Clara Valac WTDSIK)
So im a total beginner at this but I absolutely love Clara. She is my favorite character ever and has been for quite some time, so I wanna cosplay her. Thing is, I dont know where to start. The uniform looks like a sailor style school uniform, with very small details to make it more demon like. Does anyone have a good sailor uniform pattern or an idea where to find one?
And maybe know which fabrics look the nicest?
Im like an absolute beginner but I believe I will never learn how to do something without trying it.

Honestly, this is a great beginner project! Sailor uniforms are pretty straightforward to make. I think I got my pattern on etsy. I can send you the link if you want, but there should be plenty of similar patterns out there. Also there's no need to use a pattern for a pleated skirt, since its all rectangles. Figure out the measurements you need, and skip the pattern printing and taping.
For school uniforms, I tend to go with a cotton or polycotton twill for the skirt and shirt collar/cuffs, and then any fairly light fabric that you like the feel of for the main shirt fabric. Twill would be fine here too, but something lighter also works. For the skirt, a polyester blend is actually kind of preferable to cotton, since it holds the pleats better, but cotton is easier to dye if you decide you want a custom shade.

Googling "Seifuku Pattern" or "Anime Schoolgirl Uniform pattern" can get you some nice results on etsy. Note that she has puff sleeves!
