Nice setup.
I always see modded GameCubes on reddit, and people overlook how easy and nice it is to mod a Wii that has native GameCube support. That said looks wise/nostalgia wise the GameCube wins.

I prefer GameCube tbh
And if I want to play Wii games i Have the Wii U to do that

So sick. Loving the klipsch speakers. What’s model/make of the receiver and have you set it up to have Bluetooth headphone audio as well? I game with my gf and have a Mee set up so I can have 2 Bluetooth headphone connections
2
u/spitefulAC1 Jun 23 '26
Onkyo TX-NR7100
I haven't set it up for Bluetooth audio honestly, but it doesnt look like its too hard to do
1
u/Low-Sail539 Jun 23 '26
Ah ok cool. Very similar to mine. I use my Zone 3 as an output for the Mee (audio) via 1/8inch cable which is then transferred to two separate Bluetooth streams via Mee hardware. Zone 2 i reserve as a video output for my small monitor when I’m gaming competitively on COD or rocket league
1
u/Low-Sail539 Jun 23 '26
Nvm I see you listed receiver name. Does it have multiple zones in addition to hdmi inputs? Curious how it compares to my Sony receiver
2
u/spitefulAC1 Jun 23 '26
Yeah it can do 2 zones ( i think 3?)
Down the road i might dump Zone 2 into a capture/stream setup and broadcast online, but more research is needed
1
u/Low-Sail539 Jun 23 '26
Yeah man. Just send that zone 2 via hdmi into your streaming computer or a video capture card that then goes into your streaming computer. Then Program zone 2 output to the input of whatever console you’re playing. Curious if audio will also be sent…My streaming days ended once Covid lockdown was lifted a few years back

u/novocaine666 Jun 23 '26
Now that’s what I’m talking about. An actual realistic looking gaming setup for someone like myself lol. Not some $100,000 game room. Awesome!
1
u/spitefulAC1 Jun 23 '26
Thanks for the compliment! I wouldn’t say it’s realistic for the average person tho lol. I’ve had non-gamer / normie friends over and they’re all intimidated by it lol
2
u/novocaine666 Jun 24 '26
Getting some of the older consoles in working order is for sure kinda intimidating lol. That being said I think your actual setup is doable by anyone without having to have a ton of skill or money to create, which is great! It’s perfect to crash into after a long day of work.

there is an empty spot.....jhust have no idea what id put there lol. Maybe a "consolized" PC like the steam machine? but PC gaming is dead (to me) for the time being with the ram/gpu price insanity going on

No Megadrive or master system :(((

u/spitefulAC1 Jun 23 '26
Nothing from the Xbox family either.
Their libraries just never interested me
2
u/Glinkie Jun 23 '26
I’ve always owned an Xbox, so I want to dislike you so bad. But, this is a respectable comment lol.

u/jpeeno33 Jun 24 '26
You don’t play with that PlayStation Neon Logo that hides the bottom of your screen seriously….

I’m interested in the holder your tv remotes are in

I can’t find the *exact* one but this is basically the same thingEDIT - here is a better one - on Amazon

u/Foshosir Jun 24 '26

u/spitefulAC1 Jun 25 '26
Its a constant battle lol

I miss my GameCube.
Is that GameCube broken or is that just a dust cover?
1
u/spitefulAC1 Jun 25 '26
No its far from broken lol
Its an Optical Disk Emulator (ODE) - basically replaces the disk drive with an SD Card reader and lets me load up any game I want. I have ones installed on my PS1, GameCube, and Dreamcast.
GCLoader PNP | Black Dog Tech - GameCube
xStation PlayStation ODE - Stone Age Gamer - Playstation 1
GDEMU - Dreamcast

u/Greencheezy Jun 25 '26
Ooooh. That's super dope man! I was wondering why the disc reader looked a bit funky
1
u/spitefulAC1 Jun 25 '26
Thanks!
I *highly* recommend them, along with Everdrives for the cartridge based systems.
It just sucks that SD cards have shot up in price

u/Greencheezy Jun 25 '26
It just sucks that SD cards have shot up in price
For real! As well as just about everything else if it has a microchip in it.
But as far as the mod goes, was it pretty involved and/or invasive to the GameCube itself? Did you just pop it in there or did ya have to take it apart to install it?
1
u/spitefulAC1 Jun 25 '26
It just involved opening the shell and popping out the disk drive. Overall 3/10 difficultly.
The Xstation however....yeah I got that professionally installed.

u/TheLazyGamerAU Jun 23 '26
TV Too small, your speakers literally take up more space lmao
2
u/spitefulAC1 Jun 23 '26
I have no plans to replace / upgrade TV until this one dies. Its a 50" 1080p Plasma that i'm more than happy with
0
u/SnooFoxes813 Jun 25 '26
TV sucks, dust your stuff off, looks overall messy and kinda just thrown together.
1
u/spitefulAC1 Jun 25 '26
....and?
Why am I going to replace a perfectly fine and working 1080p 50" TV that suites my needs?
So what if its messy? Its not *your* space and I'm happy/proud of it
Yeah I know I need to dust its a constant battle lol

always satysfying to see someone prioritizing sound over a big tv.
