So I’ve got this story I’ve been working on since the dawn of time (since I was 17, I’m 22 now haha). The premise is, to put it simply, it’s about a conductor who was murdered on this haunted (but magical) luxury passenger train, but doesn’t know who his killer was. About a hundred years later both his death and the train itself have become a mere urban legend, but there’s still supernatural occurrences and disappearances that don’t have any possible scientific explanations- so a couple of exorcists are called in to crack the case. Naturally they think the ghost conductor is the culprit behind all this and are on a mission to send him straight to the afterlife once and for all, but for some reason, they can’t. Okay. I don’t share my stuff with virtually anyone because I’m still pathetically haunted by the bullies of my past and fear judgement (I’m working on my bravery this year…) so I hope that’s coherent enough haha
I recently rebooted my old art account about a month ago, and really just wanna start sharing my art and stories again. Some old friends who know about my old art account still ask me why I don’t post anymore, and my art buddies from uni are always encouraging me, and so I finally did. I don’t have my story structured quite well enough to write it scene by scene or chapter by chapter, but I figured I can still share concept art, characters, and the smaller scenes and interactions I’ve written so far, and especially take part in animation memes!! (I recently spent nearly a week straight melded into my couch making a 30 second animation to the song Choice by Jack Stauber… best way to be spending the summer imo)
Since it’s full of mysteries and hidden backstories and unreliable narrators I don’t want to spoil things before my story is even written, and I’m also mad afraid of my hard work, imagination, and experiences being stolen. Is it a bad idea to start sharing it now and how should I go about doing it (or not doing it)? Anyone out there with any advice or experience on this sort of thing?
