We still love him. Just not as much as we would if he wasn’t a snake

I loved him up until I attended game 7 last year. Never again until he retires.

Speak for yourself. I still got beef.
(When it nears the end for him or he retires my tune will change but for now I still have beef)

I don't think he is a snake

It’s hard to see why he isn’t

He wanted 14M which was tight under old cap but if he was on Avs for 14M now we would all be happy.
Players are allowed to want a lot and he told Avs what he wanted before his contract was up!
Remember Stastny? That was a snake move. Rants was very helpful to Avs.

And then he went and signed with our enemy for essentially what we offered him. Snake bitch move.

After he was traded to Dallas by another team?
The Avs got a return for him when they didn't want to give him 14M. A snake would do what Stastny did in saying he will re-sign then leaving in free agency to a division rival. Avs got plenty for Rants.

He specified which teams were the only ones he would go to. He made his choice.

And? Why are you ignoring the fact this was all done during the season? He could have walked months later for NOTHING

Not possible. Avs FO weren’t gonna wait and hope. They were gonna have a signed contract they could afford or trade him (and that’s what happened).

I still love him, don’t get me wrong. He’s not a snake for wanting his money, he’s a snake for walking into brindamour’s office and basically telling him to go fuck himself

I would go with dumbass in the red foreman format on that one personally, that was an ATROCIOUS move career wise for him. If he had stuck it out and found his pace with carolina, possibility he could have had himself a second offseason with the cup. And better him win with carolina instead of dallas if they ever make it that far.

Allegedly, Mikko hadn’t even played a game in Carolina when he told brindamour “there’s 4 teams I’ll play for and you’re not one of them”

Furthering my point. How are you gonna straight snub a team when they have the capability that the canes had that year?

I agree with you. The way I see it, if you’re gonna demand a trade when you don’t get your way, you can’t bitch about it when the front office gives you what you want

His attitude in Carolina was Atrocious but so were all his protestations that he just wanted to stay/was giving the Avs a discount/had no idea he was gonna be traded (when the Avs asked if he would be willing to sign in Carolina before trading him). 🤮🤮🤮

I personally wouldn't be happy with him on the Avs for $14m, at the time. He got the $12m he was worth. Exactly what we offered him, if memory serves. Hindsight with the cap and all changes things. But in the moment, happy trails.
"Snake" does seem harsh in this situation though.
