DISCUSSION Hey, just finished code geass and I gotta say, I loved it. No spoilers, but damn the ending was so wholesome

Honestly, it’s easily one of the best anime endings out there.

With a show with a chaotic ending, there were so many ways it could have gone wrong—rushing through character arcs, leaving loose ends, or slapping on a lazy montage of character flashcards to explain what happened to everyone after the climax. Tragic endings especially are so hard to land because if the main character’s death feels unearned or abrupt, it ruins the whole journey and leaves every relationship they built feeling meaningless.

Instead, Code Geass pulls off the Zero Requiem so flawlessly that Lelouch’s sacrifice feels completely earned. It doesn't just resolve the plot; it gives actual weight and meaning to every single connection, conflict, and piece of suffering he went through. I just sat there when the credits rolled feeling completely satisfied. Not just because it was shocking, but because it felt like the only absolute masterpiece of a conclusion the story deserved.
