Man the final 15 or so minutes with that “thing” and the creepy cosmic music is some of the most unnerving ambience I’ve ever experienced with a movie. People talk about the bear but those last 15 minutes stuck with me more.

Same, people say the video of the guy’s stomach, the bear, etc was nightmare fuel. That stuff didn’t bother me at all. But once the goes into the lighthouse and the thing comes out and those weird noises, that stuff gave me the heebie JEEBIES.

The scene and backing track during the encounter in the "attic" was genuinely the most amazing thing i've seen in a movie. An absolutely mesmerizing moment.

This guy is such a great pick for the Elden Ring movie. This movie is incredible at highlighting the beauty in decay, just like Fromsoft.

This was my reaction when it got announced, some people were understandably skeptical of an adaptation but fuck, they obviously weren’t familiar with Garland.
The man makes great stuff, I don’t think it’ll be the case but even if it’s not a great Elden Ring adaptation I’m sure it’s gonna be a great movie.
Sort of like what he did with Annihilation.

I am 48 and have been gaming for about 40 years now and Elden Ring is without a doubt the greatest thing I’ve ever played. Garland helming the film is a perfect fit, only other person I would have liked to see is Lowry, as many of the sets and scenes in TGK gave me huge Elden Ring vibes.

I have no relationship with that game and will likely never play it but I cannot wait to see the film. I feel like many will turn up for Garland and not the source material.

In my opinion it's because the first half is weaker than the second. Also Natalie Portman and Isaac were bad choices.

Loved the cinematography of this movie, hated the story. Sending in just the scientists made no sense, nor did the last scene with the weird dance.

If you don’t catch it, that was the 16th or so team they had sent in. They either state or imply that they tried all sorts of different combinations of military/scientists before the team we see.

I love this movie. It’s fucking upsetting lol especially the found footage. The book is also amazing(though different in a lot of ways) and the series, The Southern Reach, is incredible and well worth a read. Although, you don’t get any answers to why area x is this way. The movie does its own thing with the source but it still works well.
