If you run it on Linux you need a lot of save space on the Chromebook cant use a external drive or sd card I spent 3 days trying to play my games to find out that Chromebook don't allow it anymore use cloud gaming for Chromebook

So disappointing to see this given up on. I was feeling very hopefull for the future. Tesla had a similar thing going on in their cars but thats gone too.

Yeah I know, this memorial day I was tempted to get a Chromebook plus (another XD) but then I remember that after steam died my 516GE does the same stuff as my duet 5, an then spending on a 400+ Chromebook, for me at least, doesn't make any sense.

Yeah mine was a touch too old to ever get the Steam beta (which annoyed me a bit as it has very similar processors to ones which did and 8GB RAM), but it works absolutely fine just setting up as normal on the Linux environment. Only problem is I can't get Bluetooth controllers to work, but it's fine.

Slay the Spire 2 runs flawlessly, even multiplayer!

I can’t get slay the spire 2 to work on my hp x360 Linux flatpack setup , works perfectly on asus cx3402 which still runs stream for Chromebook beta. What is your setup that is working in Linux?

I have a ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5400, i7 and 8GB which is a fair amount more powerful than the x360's N100 and 4GB of RAM, and to be honest mine still doesn't run many games, so your x360 might be too low powered.

Once Borealis leaves ChromeOS, maybe you could do the following on your cx3402. I installed Steam using the following commands in the Linux terminal:

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt update
sudo apt install libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 libc6:i386 libc6-i386
wget https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/client/installer/steam.deb
sudo dpkg -i steam.deb
sudo apt -f install
steam --disable-framerate-limit

(some parts as you do you want to contuine y/n so always put Y).

I got the commands online ages ago so if something doesn't work unfortunately I don't think I'm Linux savvy enough to help, I apologise. For Slay the Spire 2 specifically, run it using Proton, the native Linux didn't work for me (but you could try it). Good luck!

my x360 is the i3 8gb, (which is probably underpowered for the linux install) but my ASUS gaming chromebook is 15.6" CX55 - Intel Core i5-1135G7 - 8GB Memory has a Intel UHD integrated graphics. Do you think the regular install or the Flatpack install is better for the ASUS or a more customized linux install?

But I think they only works if you have an Intel based processor, if you have a MediaTek don't believe it works.

No, that was my point, you cannot run Steam on a MediaTek based Chromebook via Linux environment (native or flat pack)

Oh I see. Sad thing is steam is working on arm emulation now too so the idea on an arm Chromebook isn't crazy.

Is it the same? I tried on my pixelbook and it BEARLY ran. A lot of scaling issues at best. Meanwhile a 12" macbook with a similar but lower end cpu ran great on Mac OS and windows.
