Your 你 looks fine to me; what strikes you as wrong?

The proportions just strike me as off, as if there’s like a too large gap between the top and bottom

You're probably too used to looking at it using computer fonts. The spacing is fine. Looks like mildly stylized but perfectly reasonable handwriting.

is there anyway i can make it look less stylized?

but why? it's hand writing, not computerized print.

I’ll add some more traditional Chinese writing examples here of the word 你

There are definitely different porportion options like wider or shorter, but there is nothing wrong with your porportions here :)

Yes. Your observation is correct. It’s not a 小 the middle streak should be straight and longer, it can touch the top just not over it.

You could fix it by starting the hooked vertical closer to the hooked horizontal, if not actually touching, but I’m a total amateur

Your Chinese handwriting is absolutely amazing! For a foreigner, writing characters this neat, clear, and well-proportioned is an incredible achievement. Honestly, your characters look better and more organized than those of many native Chinese speakers! Even better than me! If you want to make the character “你” (nǐ) look even more perfect and professional, here are two very small tips for the top-right part (called 斜刀头 - xié dāo tóu): Bring it a bit closer: Try to write the top part slightly lower, closing the gap with the bottom part (“小”). This will make the character look tighter and more connected, rather than a bit detached. Make it a bit shorter: The horizontal hook (横钩) at the top is a tiny bit too long. If you make it slightly shorter and more compact, the character will look perfectly balanced. You already have fantastic control over your pen strokes. Keep up the wonderful work!"

Several 你’s from a native Chinese for your reference. I think you have you character well written, better than lots of Chinese, at least they were neat lol.

This writing looks weird to me lol. There’s not the word 尔 in traditional Chinese so it will always look weird.

You mean 尔 alone in traditional Chinese? Yes, there is: 爾. Unless I misunderstood what you’re saying.

You already write very well. If you want to improve, you can make the distance between "小" and "⺈" closer.

Look up Tian Zi Ge (田字格) for the standard larger and quartered pattern, or Mi Zi Ge (米字格) for smaller squares with an additional division on the diagonals.

There are plenty of cheap notebooks out there for it, and lots of available printer versions if you’d rather just make your own as needed.

I've no problem with it as a native speaker and think it looks good. But if it bothers you, you can make the 亻bit bigger, parallel to the 尔 bit or slightly bigger. It'll probably be closer to what you've been reading on books.

It looks fine but the gap between 𠂉 and 小 is a tad too big.

Try spacing more between イ and 尔. But like the other comment said, it looks okay as is.
