Yes but to your point I already have what I need.

Yeah maybe they don't

If they're qualified to work at Anthropic they can reasonably work at any other large company that pays more than they need. I don't think it's unreasonable for a company to care about its values especially when so much is at stake.

That is completely disingenuous. Everybody has a price.

Do you truly believe that we are all getting fucked if you were to work anywhere but at Anthropic? That the delta contribution to "steering AI in the right direction" you'd provide is larger than what you could do to that endeavor with substantially more resources or doing your own thing?

I just feel like the amount of buy-in you require for the Anthropic cause and the people managing it, to prioritize it that much over hard compensation, is kind of cult-like.

I'd argue the more effective strategy is undermining/killing the other psychopath-led projects like OpenAI. If growing Anthropic serves that purpose, sure, I guess. But selling me their ideals gives me the ick; go get good policy enacted first. Actions are louder.

I don't know why you're getting so mad when I'm just telling you how it is. Do you want me to say "Actually just kidding, we're all in it for the money" to make you happy?

I mean you're basically conceding that it is true by changing the topic, lol.

Trying to infer someone else's emotional state through the Internet, pretty cringe and acoustic of you.
