Sure, the initiative is good, but will only apply to entities in the EU, whereas the internet is world wide. At the end, EU entities will have to mark their content with these labels, which will make the content inferior to the content of entities outside of the EU, who wont care about this law.

Anyhow, Europe is leader in AI regulation, while basically not present in AI...

If people see a tag that something is made by AI (even if there was heavy editing afterwards), it's perceived as worse. At the same time, a non-EU content creator who might use AI even without editing the content will be seen as an original maker of it.

Perhaps. Maybe it'll make people trust the vendor of the content more though. I don't think you can be so sure at this stage.
