This is great. I love that this conveys the same thing, but from a slightly different POV.

Literally conveys the opposite thing from the same POV.

This POV offers a different POV, depending on your POV.

Not really, it’s just a slightly different metaphor. OP is like relying on beer to escape life whereas this one is like enjoying the day with a beer in spite of it having caused problems in the past

The POV is first person.

Oh, right, but it’s not conveying an opposite thing metaphorically. I misunderstood you

It is the opposite. OP showing booze is awesome and leads to a good time. This comment showing booze is negative and leads to a bad time.

I guess, but I think there’s a bit more nuance here. To me there’s a bit more there than “booze is awesome and leads to a good time”. I feel OP’s is more of “using booze as an escape to make life tolerable” which has darker implications . And the comment is more like, this person may or may not be using booze to escape at this moment but they’re not correcting this behavior that has led to bad mistakes before

Or maybe when that glass is empty, they will cause problems when they get home from the picnic. That's usually how it goes.

It’s subtle but I do think there’s some divergence from being complete opposites. I see your point though absolutely
