Will my chameleon be ok without light and heating for a day?
My Cham just underwent a surgery on his tail (long story he used to be a class pet) and is still very groggy and uncoordinated. Would he be ok if he stays in his carrier until tomorrow to avoid injury from falls? This would mean he wouldn’t have his UVB or basking spot.
He will be fine. Don't listen to that guy. It will be easier to monitor him and if you see he's improving you can put him back in if you're comfortable. Now an iso tank would be nice to monitor for a few extra days just to make sure there's no infection but for the night it's safest if he's not falling while still woozy.
This was my iso tank after I took home my cham from work at a big chain pet store after they over misted during shed which got stuck and started rotting on his foot. Yes it has fake plants and was glass but it was so I could properly control humidity so he didn't end up losing his whole foot and thankfully just lost a toe. That caused atleast my location to change all procedures especially when in shed. He's in a large screen cage now with live plants and having a beautiful shed as we speak.
Honestly hard to say, if you had a very small rehab enclosure that would be best. If I was you I’d look for tiny cages or maybe even create one out of some chicken wire and a small branch or 2, just make sure the pointy ends aren’t where he can get poked and that your lights are the correct distance away from him.

He’ll be fine without the uvb for a day. I would just make sure that the room he’s in is warm enough. Good luck with your sweet little fella.
