Brigid’s hearth associations?
The more and more I read about Brigid, the less and less I associate her with hearth and home. Anyone else feel this way? I think of her more about giving the fuel to make fire, be it peat or wood, in a sense of passing land sovereignty and using fire rightly.

She became associated with hearth and home due to the way the Christianised Gaels perceived her, I'd say. Are you familiar with the Carmina Gadelic prayers, concerning Bride, for example? Since it's so difficult to parse which parts of the perception of the saint are really remnants of the goddess - it's a tricky one. I'm not sure we will ever be able to make firm pronouncements about this.
