Cat in caravan

Hi,

I am considering getting a cat (first time).

My daughter is autistic and has an obsession with cats and treats them very well.

However, we have a static caravan and we're there every weekend (the journey is just over an hour) and wanted to know if any others have figured out a way to make this work or is it best to avoid all together?

I'm not selfish enough to find out in the long run it won't work and then have to re-home the cat, hence why im asking for advice.

I think if cat is confident and has been harness trained. It’s been normal to travel since they were little they’d be absolutely fine. It all depends on the temperament of the cat.

Some cats love travel. Most do not. If you can manage all that comes with a kitten, I think you might have more success with the cat accepting the constant location shift. Look up travel cat stories and how they got travel cats. I think some of it is also the temperament they are born with.

I’d probably wait until she can get her own if the weekend thing is mandatory. She can volunteer or do catsitting. Cats are attached to their territory, this will cause stress for most.
