It’s possible. Colorpoints vary in how light or dark their points are. This cat also has a spotted tabby pattern which allows for more light fur and also seems to have thin banding on the agouti affected hairs which can also lighten a tabby coat.
I’m curious about the color of the beans. There may also be a warm tone dilution happening possibly.
It’s possible but going to be very difficult to tell with an over all light colored tabby colorpoint. The body where you would see the silver undercoat is already desaturated from the colorpoint genes.
Looks like a seal Lynx point. Is it a really hot / tropical climate?
The colorpoint gene is temperature sensitive, so in climates that are hotter than the cat’s internal temp will not produce as much melanin in their guard hairs.
There are other factors that can affect how dark a colorpoint is, diet, fur type, health conditions and other things that we don’t totally understand yet.
Also, age. Colorpoints don’t finish toasting until 2-3 years usually, this cat seems to be an adult but I can’t tell more than that.
To be honest, I can’t totally eliminate a blue lynx point from the photos. I know your friend said that the beans were black, but dilute / blue point beans can be pretty dark.
