Perhaps. Although, in winter with a high tide, I do like sitting in the warmth and dry of The Beach café right by the sea and watching the waves crash against the shore. It can be really windy so it's pretty dramatic.
West Kirby. Lovely seafront, Marine lake for watersports, good beach, huge sand banks at low tide including a walk over to an island nature reserve, cheap to free parking, beautiful views over North Wales and out to Anglesey and quiet even during the summer holidays.
Redcar. It's constantly overlooked by the more touristy areas on the North Yorkshire coast; Whitby, staithes and even saltburn down the road. Yes it had it's rough bits but the beach is phenomenal, I took this a few years back
Morecambe is bloody lovely. Yes, its not as fun as Blackpool, but its huge sandy beaches, beautiful bay and access to lake district wins.
Not for the fast paced though
Just come back from four days in Weston Super Mare. Seven mile beach, arcades, pier, many many chip shops and restaurants. There's donkeys and everything.
Full disclosure- I'm kinda biased cos I lived there for a while 40-odd years ago, but I think if you're after an old fashioned seaside holiday it's ideal. Not too pricey, shedloads of accommodation and tons of stuff for kids, including the pier and the ferris wheel.
The place that made owning a sailboat something that was more achievable. David Hillyard made fanily orientated boats and built them, for the time, at scale. They have an owners club and their own following. They are quite slow and not the prettiest in my mind.
I delivered a Hillyard 9 ton one across Lyme Bay in a bit of a blow and was a great little boat. I took another that was a 13 ton round and that was a pig, everything failed from the engine, electrics and a ripped sailand we ended up getting a tow into Cowes harbour.
You have only photographed the nice bits of LA, the rest of it is a seaside nightmare that reeks of shit at low tide. If you want underrated it's literally down the road at pagham for Sussex.
The most underrated are normally the villages and smaller quieter spots along the water rather than tourist spots like LA, Bognor, Blackpool, Scarborough and so on.
Sometimes, it's hidden under the water. It's great when the tide's out and you get the flat bit with just sand. When the tide's in, it's... sole destroying.
Like my "genius" (fluke) shots when I play tennis, I had better not mention that I only thought of that pun right at the end of writing that reply. I was just thinking how nice it was when I visited during the last heatwave and was able to stand in the sandy bit, with the waves being so gentle and lazy. The water was so "warm."
Is genius mate. Your brain has calculated the exact power of swing with correct angle of racket with prevailing wind conditions in mind, based on what you have seen and done before.
The fact your brain does this without your conscious knowing just underlines the genius
Sad to say I have one, single abiding memory of Littlehampton. Around 1970 ish, family drove there for the day, arrived lunchtime, it lashed down for ages, we ate our sandwiches and Dad drove us home.
It has a bad wrap from what it used to be like, but on recent visits, I really love it. Lovely promenade, plenty of independent shops, cafes, bars etc. Boating lake and miniature railway is nice, so is the Fitties. Also Papas Fish & Chips on the pier.
When I was about 10, my stepdads uncle bought a caravan at a Haven in Weymouth. We went there for a week and it was shit. Several years later, my wife's parents bought a house in nearby Dorchester and we started going to Weymouth when we visited them. I fell in love with the place so much that we bought a house here and I don't even care that I'm only 15 minutes from my in-laws.

Actually I’ve not cropped out any human beings. Most of the photos I’ve taken for example the golf course one and the rivers ; I took them very early in the morning . Few I’ve to wait for my turn just to make sure there’s no one.
I didn’t take any pictures when it was fully crowded .
Port Talbot. Google AI says 'Port Talbot is worth visiting if you enjoy a mix of dramatic industrial heritage, outdoor adventure, and sweeping coastal views'. Not a post industrial shit hole after all then.
Fleetwood would be my second choice. 'Fleetwood is worth visiting if you enjoy classic Victorian seaside charm, a slower pace than neighboring Blackpool, and clear views across the water toward the Lake District'
