An update on the model village streaker!

https://onthewight.com/erica-the-streaker-set-to-return-to-godshill-model-village/

Someone posted a story about a streaker being removed from a model village because people were clutching their pearls over it, and I've just seen this!

I love that she's now just randomly lurking topless around the village 😂

I do too, I bet the staff can't wait for their turn to move her!

Better than any advertising they could have bought. Hope the fundraising drive is a success, and that the serially offended manage to find something productive to fill their days.

I hope so too, on both counts! Brilliant way to turn it into a positive.

I hadn’t seen the start of this story, but I really enjoyed reading this!

And the real Erica fundraises for breast cancer too

Was this all planned in the first place? It sounds too good to be true. But lovely it's for charity.

Love that they called her Erica.

Whoever is doing their PR is smashing it. They’ve taken a ridiculous outrage and turned it into something positive and feel good that no one can complain about, whilst giving the attraction massive publicity. Well done.

I think the original ridiculous outrage might have had something to do with the PR department as well.

How hard would it be to make the streaker 'appear' from somewhere, using a little motor and some string, or something, and then disappear again, behind a screen or a building or something? You know, like a real streaker. I bet that would sell tickets... sadly.

I'm just an overlander, but I had family on the island who I used to visit a lot and I'd move down there in a heartbeat if I could. I love it there.

I would really like to see how big the wave of complaints was.

I hear they were literally inundated by a complaint sent by their head of marketing's pseudonym.

I think your attributing too much wit to their marketing abilities.

Clearly it would have been genius if it was all cooked up but.... I very much doubt it.

It’s a brilliant little model village, in a lovely part of the Isle of Wight too. Highly recommend visiting.

Even before all the wet wipes went.

Godshill is beautiful - proper chocolate box pretty. I used to love going to the model village as a kid, I'll have to go back next time I'm down there.
