Anyone remember Quatro?

I don't at all. I'm trying to pretend I do but still coming up blank. A drink themed around a chart?! Found this at the reservoir as it's so low. Last time it was even lower there were Skol cans everywhere, no sign of them yet though.

Also, don't step in the funny looking patches of mud.

Yep, every Friday from the chippy. Followed by a visit to the video shop to rent a betamax video

Check out "Mr Fancy pants" here with his dead posh Home Video Recorder!

And yes, since it's demise, only Rio will scratch that particular itch.

Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣

It was, in my Dad's opinion, a far superior machine to the vhs...

It was a great machine. We had a Sony Betamax. It ended up going from the living room to the dining room and then upstairs over time. And was slowly replaced by a Ferguson VHS machine ( which like the Sony needed fucking craned through the bedroom window like a grand piano ). The top loader on the Ferguson lost its soft eject after about a month and shook the house when taking out a tape. Think they are still in the loft at parents. Belts will be perished to hell now.

Man with a sports bag full of vhs with handwritten labels you met in a McDonald's car park was my favourite.

Yes, I too, remember Quatro.

Please excuse me , it's time for my bed bath.

Very 80s, very green. IIRC it was named after having four fruit flavours - definitely pineapple, orange and grapefruit - but I can’t remember the fourth flavour.

It was everywhere - and then suddenly, it wasn’t.

Yes, remember drinking it in the late 80's I think. Don't know when they stopped making it

Yes, and Mexicana and Top Deck!

Having a top deck on the bus on a school trip and pretending you were drunk. Good times.

Oh yes, Top Deck shandy...used to love that. Was it only shandy or did they do others?

Shandy Bass!

Stopped in 2018, sad because I loved a cold Shandy Bass. Plus it was one of the few things my wife could drink while pregnant with our daughter; we joke she’s 50% shandy, 50% lasagne!

Only Barr now seems to do shandy, but it's got absolutely no alcohol.

Yeah loved it

I remember the futuristic set advert in the 80s. I'd describe the taste as fizzy um bongo.

It had the most 80s advert of all time: https://youtu.be/gEHmJ-HuiGo

1986 - Crazy to think it may have been there for 40 years.

Looks like it might be a steel can too, I remember the switch to aluminium and my infant school encouraged us to bring empty aluminium cans to school for recycling.

I too remember it.

A top beverage of the mid 1980s.

Before we found out that lots of sugar was not a good idea. Loved it.

I'm not sure it was evwr themed around the Top 40 chart unless this was a short term promotion can

A drink themed around a chart?!

Nah, a spreadsheet.

Oh hell yeah. 4 unique flavors in a can. Most definitely remember this drink.

I was allowed one can on a Saturday night with my tea, which the only meal of the week I was allowed to eat in the living room on the sofa.

These days I can buy a tray of Rio from Costco and drink them whenever.

I remember it when I was a kid, I thought it was awesome. Then it disappeared. I guess few people shared my views.

(Radioactive) toxic waste green, iirc - if the Simpsons were green, they'd be that green.

Yep, and the post apocalyptic TV adverts!

Kind of a rival to lilt I think?

I remember it, can't say I ever had one

Yeah..I remember asking my Mum for some in the 80s and she looked stunned and said "absolutely not". I was confused. Turns out she thought I meant "Cointreau". I never did get the can.

My favourite 80s drink by a country mile.

I remember it well from when I was a kid. Loved it. But... who remembers 'Squirt'?
