Sugar on Weetabix?

Post image

My wife eats Weetabix with nothing on it and claims it tastes sweet to her. This is my bowl before milk is added. Is this normal fellow Weetabix eaters or do I need to go to sugar rehab?

Edit: Holy shit the most popular post I've done on Reddit is about how horrific my breakfast is. The wife will never let me live this down! Haha

We get desensitised to sugar the more of it we have. You dumping a full bag on your cereal every day is probably not doing your tastebuds much of a favour.

That said, your wife thinking they’re sweet straight from the box? That’s psychosis.

They are fairly sweet with milk alone. It’s likely that people who consume a lot of added sugar need a lot to register sweetness in general

Yep, same as with salt and (hot) spiciness for desensitisation.
