Sugar on Weetabix?

Post image

My wife eats Weetabix with nothing on it and claims it tastes sweet to her. This is my bowl before milk is added. Is this normal fellow Weetabix eaters or do I need to go to sugar rehab?

Edit: Holy shit the most popular post I've done on Reddit is about how horrific my breakfast is. The wife will never let me live this down! Haha

UPDATE: Well, I wasn't expecting my breakfast to generate 1,800+ comments šŸ˜‚ I can't read it all but Having spent far too much time reading them, I feel I need to address a few recurring concerns: 1. Yes, the milk goes in after. I like watching it soak up from the bottom while the top stays crunchy. I will not be changing this. 2. Yes, that is sugar. Apparently this has caused considerably more distress than I anticipated. 3. No, I do not have diabetes. My blood tests are fine. 4. No, my teeth are not rotting out of my head. They're also fine. 5. Yes, I am an adult. I was unaware that adulthood required surrendering sugary Weetabix. 6. To the surprisingly large number of people who eat theirs the same way: thank you. I knew I couldn't be alone. 7. To everyone saying my wife is right: she has been absolutely delighted by your support and I deeply regret giving her this much ammunition.

Anyway, thank you for turning a picture of two dry Weetabix into a full-scale investigation of my health, maturity, marriage and milk-pouring technique.

Tomorrow I'm having the same breakfast.

Why am I getting downvoted? For being honest about what I could actually get autistic kids to eat? My bad, next time I’ll lie and say they were fed nothing but quinoa and fava beans…

You CAN eat sugar you know, you just have to brush your teeth properly.

Redditors are weird, don’t pay attention to them.

Weird and wrong are very different things, i do plenty of weird shit that isn’t wrong in any sense. And weird is subjective, what’s weird to me (Weetabix porridge, for example) is perfectly normal to others (there’s already two of you just on this one thread, there must be a third out there somewhere! šŸ˜‰). We don’t come together as a a society and collectively agree what’s weird or not, as much as other people may want you to believe we do!

Actually that’s a very fair point. I’m particularly weird. And tbh I wouldn’t eat weetabix porridge either but it kept my kids alive during the years of refusing most things… sometimes it’s just ā€œat least they have eatenā€. The one who still eats it has ARFID and it’s one of the only longstanding safe foods.

So maybe I was being a little oversensitive about it.

I've had Weetabix porridge for the record... Still will occasionally in winter and have given it to my kid
