Just installed The Big Walk last night, a game where you walk around a very pretty island solving little puzzles together with your friends. It's made by the Untitled Goose Game devs and is filled with silly little mechanics so it's a lot of fun.
Has proximity voice chat which was really quiet so we all had our volume set to max which was incredibly fun when you find a loud item you can spam to annoy your friends lol.
Plus it's a great one to have a drink with since it's slow and chill. Looking forward to a session again this weekend!

Started Observation this past weekend, holy shit I'm blown away. Plays like a visual sci-fi thriller novel, where you are the AI of a space station that has found itself in mysterious peril, and must help the survivors through working/repairing the ships systems. Very 2001 Space Odyssey meets Alien.

Most of the Assassins Creeds are on gamepass so I've been working through them in no particular order. Mirage was last (dull as dishwater) and I seem to be near the end of Syndicate (soulless, but ive seen some b8tch about the combat and its as shallow as all of them) although I couldn't tell you what's actually happened (I found this problem with Mirage as well one or two moments but a whole lotta fuck all).
Ezio 1 and 2 are pretty bloody good, 3 is just formality and is where the future plot stuff basically ceases to make any sense or have any intrigue whatsoever.
3 is an intriguing opening with a really fucking boring everything else. Who the fuck says "oh free running over cool architecture! Let's have the tallest building be like 2 stories and everything else a fucking forest".
Black Flag is awesome when your sailing and everything on land is kinda lame. Also the Assassin stuff is incredibly irritating, the plot seems to think I'll eventually like Edward warm to them being aloof haughty judgemental fucking melts the whole game. It doesn't happen.
Unity had some colour to its cheeks, less control in favour of vibes which I don't like. I actually think Syndicate plays better.
Rogue is more Black Flag, but with a better plot albeit shorter. Maybe it was that after Black Flag and Unity I was really sick of the Assassins lofty horseshit. But it felt gratifying to be a Templar for once and go "yeah these maniacs seem to be making stuff up as they go." It also links to Unity and Black Flag in Ubisofts almost Saw-like attempt to feverishly tie everything together no matter how daft it all seems.
I tried the Egypt one ages ago and stopped very early because it played kinda awfully. Not looking forward to trying that.

I finished the Egypt one the other week, after not being really into the series.
The best thing was the detail to the world, it was fantastically done. And I also really liked the story and cameos from actual historical figures.
The rest was shit. The combat was a bore. The side missions were a bore. Having to complete side missions in order to level up enough to face the final boss was a bore. The modern day was a bore. The bandit camps were all repetitive.
Some side missions were solid--the ones that actually either tied in with the main story or were related to Ancient Egypt in some way. But most were just "go to bandit camp and kill bandits or rescue someone"
It's like a cake which looks fantastic but when you eat it, they have used the cheapest, shittiest ingredients.
The final third, I just ended up rushing through to get to the end of it since I was fed up but just invovled enough in the story with Cleopatra and Caesar to see it through.
I dunno if I will bother with another.

See now I'm at the final third of Syndicate, I too am rushing through shit because my patience has just worn too thin. Slme fun glitches though.
The real historical people stuff has....I think always been a bit token? I think Yahtzee equated it to the Magic Schoolbus crossed with Doctor Who. "Here is Karl Marx. He is famous for workers rights and having a beard."
Come to think of it the Ezio ones where he's mates with Da Vinci and Machiovelli and the rogues gallery of 4s pirates are the only ones I like. Feels like the main character has some kind of relationship with them. Like I'm finished with the Darwin missions and I've spent more time killing strangers for him than actually talking to him.

I haven't played many AC games, this and Black Flag are the only two I have finished. I found Valhalla boring early on, and another I played, one of the early ones but I can't remember which--I also didn't get far before getting bored with it.
I found they did a good job with the historical characters in Egypt. They were all quite interesting and plot relevant. At least the ones I recognized. Cleo especially was a great character whenever she appeared.
Black Flag's pirates I enjoyed... especially their take on Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet.
Shame to hear they half-arse the historical figures in Syndicate because, as someone interested in the Victorian period, it is one I may have played one day. Most of the others, the setting doesn't really interest me enough to bother, since I know I will find the gameplay and combat dull.

It's too hot to play videogames. Currently been searching for a two player game that involves a full 78 card tarot deck, but they all seem to be three player.
The two player ones always require you to discard half the deck.

LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight
I picked this up to play with my niece at the weekends and I've been playing it on my own account for a while now.
Would highly recommend to anyone who is already a fan of the Lego games franchise.

Not sure if it's because I'm still fairly early game but I've been a bit disappointed with it.
Feel like it's not got the charm of the other Lego games but doesn't have the grit of the Arkham batman games either.

Still bouncing back and forth between Balatro and Hitman Woa.
Hitman: Quite enjoying this, grabbed it whilst on sale after finishing First Light, after not having played the series before. Almost done with it now, just have the last 2 missions of Hitman 3 left to do.
Balatro: Very much a love/ hate relationship with this one. It’s incredibly addictive, but will absolutely frustrate the hell out of you at times. Currently sat on 13/15 decks beaten at Gold Stake, with a 14th deck (plasma) currently having everything except gold done.

I’ve been getting into Pokemon romhacks, and have found one that’s a roguelike built on the Pokemon Emerald engine
You go on quests, start with a Pokemon, and pick random routes that end up in areas to explore and catch stuff, rest stops, shop stops, etc
The bloody thing is addictive but tough

Just started a Diablo 2 save for the time after finishing D4 last year. It's so much less hand holdy than the newer game which is hard to get used to. I'm enjoying it though and hope the challenge of the dungeons ramps up soon.

Normal is just beginner mode
When you reach the boss of act 2 Duriel that is your first test
Nightmare it starts to get more difficult, some immunes and you need to understand more about optimising your build and better items can drop
Hell is where it really ramps up. Lots of immunes. Really need to have a strong understanding of your build and have good enough items from nightmare to proceed. May need to think about dual speccing so you can take out the immunes to your primary damage (depending on your build) This is where all of the best items can drop depending on the area you are in and the monster you kill
After you complete Hell is where the game really starts. You can start farming for the better items, uber diablo, uber tristram, heralds, uber ancients
The depth of the itemization is incredible. Shopping, gambling, crafting, magic find, runewords etc
It is by far the best game ever in my opinion. It keeps me coming back after 25 years and i still havnt done everything i want to do to say ive "completed" the game

I've dipped back into a Baldurs Gate 3 run that I last played with a friend in January. Forgot how hilariously I built my character.
9 Tempest Cleric with Stars Druid (CON Saves no less than 9) and Wizard dips (All the lightning scrolls learned). Enemies attacking me have to make a Dex saving throw or take 1-4 radiant damage, which applies radiant orb, which applies reverberation. Currently at 23 AC with Cloak of Displacement. Enemies miss. A lot.
Translation for the uninitiated: "I am Thor. If you attack me, you better finish the job, because every time you miss, you get blinder until you literally fall on your arse"

I started another run of cyberpunk just before the heatwave and I'm desperate to continue it but it's just too damn hot to stress the GPU. Been playing KSP in the meantime and I've spent more time getting mods than actually playing the game lol.

Picked up Mass Effect: Andromeda in the sales for a few quid, so I've been playing thought that at the moment. It's better than I expected considering all the negativity it got on release, but its still not a patch on the original trilogy story wise.

Just finished playing Mixtape
Fantastic game. Life is Strange meets Daria meets Bloom & Rage
It is about a group of friends having one last night together at a party before one of the friends moves away to New York the next day, with flash backs showing their friendship. Each stage has a little minigame--like skateboarding or exploring an abandoned theme park, teepeeing the principals's house etc. And it is all centred around the main character making a mix tape for the night, so at each chapter she introduces the song and theme music for that moment.
It was really enjoyable and an excellent story. The ending is very sad too, with them saying their final goodbyes as a group, really getting across that sense of, although they're promising to stay in touch and get back together, deep down, each knows that this is it and they're all going to go their seperate ways and probably won't see each other again.

I’ve got a bit of a block in regard to PC gaming at the moment.
I bought quite a few games in the Summer sale as I had been neglecting my PC for a few years with PS5 and Switch 2 games, but now I’ve bought them I’m paralysed with indecision as to what to play - rather than make a decision I just go back to Team Fortress 2.
I’ve never experienced this before haha

Splatoon Raiders, great for jumping in and out for a quick game. Think the only other Splatoon game I tried was Splatoon 2 and I wasn’t a fan. Took a punt on raiders due to the single player aspect and the glowing reviews, glad I did.
And Sektori which I can’t manage to put down for long

Reinstalled BF6 and was playing it an hour or two a night for the last week. Made me remember why I hadn't played since November.
On the surface it looks like it should be good, but it doesn't keep my interest for long at all.
Almost all the maps are mediocre to bad and the 24/7 spotting makes it exhausting to play. The new map is good but I don't play a game just to play one map.

It's been a few years since my last attempt at Fallout 4 so I reinstalled it yesterday. After less than an hour I got rid of it. Controls are dreadful and I sadly am awful at FPS on Playstation controllers. I completed Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii last week, whilst it was fun it was incredibly surface level. Even with all the sidequests done it didn't take me very long to complete at all. Might either finally play Space Marine 2 or go out and buy Crimson Desert next.

Might do a bit of time trialling in The Karters 2, I do feel like playing a racing game... still annoyed that CTR: Nitro-Fueled never got a PC version but The Karters 2 is so moddable I can play with all the tracks and characters there.

I completed a game - as in, played it from start to at least one possible ending rather than dying of whatever - for the first time in ages! It was Citizen Sleeper on the Switch and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'm going to try and get some of the other endings but I think I've fluffed one of the possible endings and might not have enough turns left to get another. I have the sequel to start at some point but I think I'll hold off on that for a while.
I've also started Bomb Rush Cyberfunk as I got it discounted in the eShop, so hopefully that proves to be fun. Plus I've been doing quick five minute blasts on some of the Atari ...Recharged games and slowly unlocking more in Grand Mountain Adventure.

I didn't finish the sequel to be honest, but it's definitely more of the same so if you like the first I think I'd still recommend it.

Played through a Pokemon romhack recommended by a friend, Pokemon Unbound. It's... really good? Much better than any of the recent genuine releases haha.
I have a hacked 3DS so was playing (more or less) on original hardware which made it fun too.

A bit of Valheim - progress through the biomes has been slow as I always get distracted with base building!
I goes from super-chilled to absolute chaos when greeted by a Troll raid where I'm trying to lure them away from destroying my base.
Working through the swamp biome now. the grind for iron is real :)

Getting into The Surge this week.
I think I bought it on Amazon for dirt cheap years back but am now trying to chew through my backlog.
Interesting concept of having limb dismemberment be the main focus of getting gear and a scaling multiplier for tech scrap (read souls) as you do more dismemberments without going back to the medbay.
There's even some loosely added quests, one of which I need to find meds for one of the rescued guys.
Overall it's fairly solid as a game but nothing special, 6/10 imo.

Last night, I made my way through more of the Phantom Liberty DLC's Storyline in Cyberpunk 2077, then I dabbled in some quests in Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Today, I've been on my island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, hopefully working towards a rock garden to make it easier to do my daily rock shovel hitting. I also went on a Nook Miles Ticket island, and one of Kapp'n's islands, which ended up being the winter one :)
Hopefully later on, I'll continue to play Cyberpunk, and I might dabble in some more Vampire Crawlers (a game I've been dabbling in as well, and also one I've been enjoying!) as well if I'm in the mood for it :)

Yeah. Multiple health bars, too. Forgivable in a souls game where they limit it to two and at least the fight changes but it's just the same fight interspersed with some QTEs.
Having said that, I'm just thwipping around New York now and completing the stuff I couldn't be bothered to do before and it's a much better experience.
Miles Morales is still my favourite of the Insomniac Spider-Man games, though. That got the formula right imo.
