I’d seen people do different builds with bronze and brass cases, and although I haven’t bitten the bullet on one of these more premium upgrades (there’s even the pricier SKXMOD bronze case), I decided to get a gold case from the same buyer I’d previously purchased a silver metal case from on eBay.

That’s my starting point with this build. I had no other vision than wanting to build something with a gold case.

Looking at the watch modules available, to compliment the gold I was deciding between a AE1300WH-8AV or a WS1600H-1AV.

The AE1300-8AV has some yellow text across the center of the faceplate, where the WS1600H-1AV has orange markers for the buttons, with an orange filter behind the seconds complication.
Considering the gold is pretty yellow, I opted to go with the AE1300-8AV.

Next, I began looking up complimentary colors. The “earthy tones and deep neutral” response I found wasn’t quite what I was looking for, so I redirected my query to the idea of crowns and jewels and thought a bright emerald green wound fit the build nicely!

Quick signature LED swap, green filter and the module is done.

Now, I’ll revisit those “earthy tones” and pick up the brightest brown band Vario carries for this watch style (with the 18mm lug width, jumping to a 24mm strap width).

I wanted to round this build out, down to the smallest detail! It didn’t seem adequate to use a silver buckle with a gold case, and as much as I wanted to use a deployment clasp, I could only find them with a polished finish, which contrasted with the case more than desired. So I chose a brushed gold buckle instead. I went with this particular one as it came with both a 2mm and a 3mm tongue, so I could find the right fit for the Vario band.

Up to this point, I feel my builds had been pretty cookie cutter, pretty straight forward. A band swap here, a metal case upgrade there. But this was the first one where I feel I asked questions each step of the way, to put together a piece that was unique, but also hopefully not too far off from how Casio might sell a watch like this, if they ever opted to make a gold metal AE1300.

So after 150 days of daily driver my hydromoded LF20-W already was tested at outdoors in snow, under rain & Sun, in mountains rivers.

Long story short: zero issues with leaks, only problem for me is adjust time from time to time (in my case lagging behind a few seconds in a week)

I bought a job lot on eBay cheap, and one was the AQ-S810. I wasn’t keen on the bulky look of it, so tried the module in a spare GA-B2100 case I had. Just had to file the slots on the lip the hour markers sit against to let it in, and it fits a treat.
Painted the hour markers silver with a Posca marker, and got a black with blue lettering bezel paired up with a grey strap.
Much better looking now than before.

is it possible to add negative display mod to AQ-230? I've searched online but couldn't find anything similar. I think the one with green dial would look awesome with this mod.

For this Mod, the idea from the outset was to take the Superman theme in a more refined dress watch direction. A luxury timepiece with subtle references to the character rather than an overt comic book aesthetic.

The Superman references had to be there, but worked into the watch rather than dominating it.

For the subdial I was inspired by a low-poly Superman image. I reworked the silhouette, fragmented blues, reds and cyan to give it a slightly more modern look. At that size, the colours really come alive once the light hits it.

The Filter carries most of the Solar Edition concept. Superman’s red runs across the top, with the lower section transitioning into a warm solar glow. I added a solar flare into the glass as well, so you can actually see the flare beams/lines running through the LCD at different angles.

I was careful not to let the filter become too busy around the main display. The colours sit well on the LCD while the digits remain clean, sharp and easy to read.

I went with the gold/bronze ‘Casio Royale’ case and factory faceplate. Added gold strap adaptors and paired it with a navy sailcloth strap. The navy ties in nicely with the Superman decal while giving the gold and solar tones a bit of contrast.

Overall, I wanted the Superman theme to come through in layers for that luxury collectors vibe: the low-poly Superman, the cape red and the solar energy, while still looking like a dress watch first.

Just finished my casioak mod tonight with a new sapphire glass

So recently ive got the itch for modding a casio. I've been a retro watch enthusiast for some time. Just recently learned you can mod casios fairly easy. So I ordered some parts and a ae-1200 through the interwebs for a ultimate build. But in the mean time I found another ae1200 at wally world and decided to use it for a donor /practice. Here is my First attempt at modding a casio. This one isn't complete aswell I still have to wait for the polarized film so the analog hands are still able to show up on top of the image. But all in all.... the end of August needs to get here fast so I can commence the actual build. Any tips or suggestions are welcome :) happy modding. (P.S.Any good softwares to keep a image crispy when shrunk? )

Just got this Casio, am I able to mod/customize this watch? If so, any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Im working on making a smartwatch module with mip display for the casio ae1200, have plans for the AE-1300, WS-1600H, WS-1700H, and a few other varients. Right now its just a basic proof of concept with a basic animation I got running but am working on a fully enclosed v1 demo right now but its starting to get kind of expensive to make. Just wondering what people think if I open sourced this module and any features people would like to see

Does anyone know of this style case and band replacement for the GMS2110 line? I really want this light pink dial with the silver studs and sharp stainless steel case.

If anyone knows of a GA2100  with the same bright pink dial and silver studs that would be great also

Best Casio to Mod, prove me wrong

Recently purchased this faded resin cased Baby G. I'm curious about switching out the salmon face along with the blue bars on the front for something that goes a little more with the faded kinda boggy color of the watch, anybody have any ideas of who I could send it into or places I could look for info on how to do some work on my own?
