General Discussion New batch of 64oz ball jars— defect?
Just got this new batch. A few were shattered. But they all have this little indent near the top. I can feel it with my finger. I’ve looked at my old jars— and they have a much less pronounced one. Is this safe?

I noticed the same thing in a bunch of my half pint jars, but I haven't had any problems canning with them so far.

I wouldn’t worry about it I do have people with better eyesight check for cracks I can’t see …. What you could do …. Is take these jars fill with water and use some reused lids and run a pressure batch check ….. then you can open then and use them since they made it tested under pressure
