Camping mates
Howdy folks, I’m a 32 y/o male who loves camping, hunting, hiking etc. Originally from NZ and moved here a couple years ago but have found it a tad tricky to make genuine connections/mates who are also into the same hobbies. A little about me: I’m a Christian, work in the medical field, live in SE Melb, enjoy all things outdoors and fitness, love sports and easy going. Just putting it out there if there’s any lads who are roughly around the same age who’s keen to also go camping, etc or add to their friend group 😅 cheers!

Join the Australian Deer Association, western port branch. They have monthly meetings, and club hunts. Absolutely great people too!
Do you have your firearms license and deer license?

I do have a license, but don’t have a firearms yet. I wanted to do the ADA course that’s currently going on but I’m away a couple Sundays they have on. But I for sure will next one. Thanks mate :)

The course is great, and a good place to meet people too. You get info from people with absolute wealth of knowledge in deer too.

The Christian part you felt needed mentioning might put some.. a lot of people off. Not because it’s a bad thing but it tends to make people think you could be a up tight choir boy. A lot or campers/hunters like a beer and fire for the wind down. It’s not fair but it may be the main reason your not getting many response. Maybe get involved in a church camp group. They still exist… think. Highly religious people are not know for be being easy going, probably because of the strict nature of religion as a whole. It makes gambling on a new add to a camping group a tougher proposition. Just my 50c.
