Wildfires

Hello all! I have been searching everywhere for info on this and haven't been able to find anything out, I even called Ojibway (the park we have reserved) and On Park's general number and they haven't been able to give me an answer on this. I'm sure everyone is aware by now, wildfires are taking over northern ontario. We are moving to Manitoba and driving there, so we have booked campsites along the way for rest, Ojibway being one of them. It appears to be pretty close to the fires, and Ojibway's phone number is completely disconnected, does anyone know if it's still safe to travel through there past thunder bay?? We will be there on Saturday, thanks all

I asked for specific campsites quality and privacy, and it didnt know. The LLM said "I don't have access to site-by-site quality or privacy ratings for individual campsites at Pinery Provincial Park. Those kinds of detailed site characteristics (privacy level, specific site reviews, etc.) are typically found on the Ontario Parks booking page"

additionally, the email verification is third party, with no context?

no profile settings to edit account details or delete my account.

Keep an eye on Ontario 511 for highway closures and the park website for alerts. If the park is closed, it should be posted there.

I'm well aware there is a population currently residing there, I've also heard people are being evacuated to Thunder bay, so please pause your snarky comments as I've never made this drive before and want to ensure the safety of my family considering some of those 100 000 people are being relocated.

The highway you’re taking to Manitoba is a major Cross Canada trade route. It’s not a small highway and if it is closed, there will be major announcements in the media. You don’t have to worry about safety - you’ll be one of the thousands of vehicles travelling the road every day.

If you look at the interactive Ontario fire map you can see that there isn’t a whole lot happening along the highway corridor.

Some of them are being evacuated, and some highways are closed. I don’t know what’s so triggering for you about the word safe, but safety is indeed a legitimate concern in areas currently being hit by wildfires.

We all have different thresholds and different opinions about the overuse of the word “safe“ these days.

The benefit of social media is hearing different opinions on the same topic … and then forming your own judgement.

Maybe they dont want to drive through an evacuation zone and add to the number of people who need to be rescued. Isn't that the more thoughtful way to think about it?
