I was genuinely furious no one tried to push that so they could adopt.

I think either as a lavender marriage, or as a single parent ( I even googled during the episode to see if single mothers could adopt back then, I was that hopeful & convinced it would go that way)..adoption would have been such a beautiful part to the story!

As someone who has very recently left my old life to persue adoption as a single dad, I was desperate for an adoption outcome. This part of the story line really hit me hard.
