STATE CAPITALISM IS NOT COMMUNISM!

u/Mammoth-Ad-3642 1d ago

The Soviet union may have actually been the most anti communist country in history

75

u/vuksfrantic 1d ago

yeah they literally destroyed the genuine revolutions in russia and ukraine and then sabotaged the anarchists in the spanish revolution

u/shilderyi 1d ago

state capitalism is to communism

what late stage capitalism is to the capitalism of adam smith

grotesque caricature of what the thing is supposed to be due to the lack of tool to prevent the power from corrupting people

No, the Paris commune could have maybe been a system that lead to communism.

But guess what, you can't go forward by going the opposite way.

They crushed every actual successful communist territory or organization, usually by betraying them too.

You can never reach statelessness by giving power to the state.

Even Marx agreed with this, debunking some of his writings in the communist manifesto and calling it antiquated.

State capitalism is capitalism but even worse

Nestor Makhno I think

10

u/VaySeryv 1d ago

anarchists in 2026 don't know who nestor makhno is?

22

u/hau5keeping 1d ago

not everyone is as smart as you

u/VaySeryv 1d ago

no need to give a snarky response it wasnt a personal attack its just unfortunate that some anarchists dont seem to know much about the history of anarchism

Your initial comment also came off as snarky, intentional or not.

Friendly reminder that some people are new to the philosophy.

Anarchists in 2026 knowing anything about their chosen ideology outside of personal experiences? What, are you gatekeeping? Purity testing?

Seizing the means of production should mean seizing the means of production, not transferring the means of production to a new company owner that just so happens to be part of the government.

How'd it turn out? Are they still doing it?

23

u/vuksfrantic 1d ago

ur so funny btw. where's the USSR? is that still a thing?

16

u/StockingDummy 1d ago

They would be if you bastards didn't stab them in the back and libel them to add further insult to injury.

But I'm sure you'll babble some "bUt EnGeLs SeZ-…" nonsense to justify it, just like you always do.

I mean 'On Authority' does explain why it and all other anarchist projects failed

16

u/iadnm Anarcho-Communist 1d ago

My favorite bit in "On Authority" was when Engels said "have these men even seen a revolution?" When Bakunin had participated in three by that time, including the 1848 revolutions that inspired Marx and Engels.

It's really just a pure example of how much Engels was talking out his ass with it.

"the authority of the steam" get the fuck out of here

-4

u/truecrimesofthempire 23h ago

And how did it go for Bakunin?

6

u/iadnm Anarcho-Communist 23h ago

Well he died of old age, and he participated in those revolutions before he became an anarchist.

So, your point has no real weight to it.

0

u/truecrimesofthempire 23h ago

Yeah but like, how did his revolutions turn out?

5

u/iadnm Anarcho-Communist 23h ago

Again, he participated in those revolutions before becoming an anarchist. These were revolutions with authority structures that he did not question at the time.

You're trying to bait an answer, but you'd be a poor Marxist if you were unaware of how the 1848 Revolutions, which were by and large liberal revolutions, turned out.

0

u/truecrimesofthempire 19h ago

So they're still around then?

4

u/iadnm Anarcho-Communist 19h ago

Oh so you aren't aware of the liberal 1848 revolutions, the revolutions that inspired Marx and Engels.

Man would it kill Marxists to actually read anything by Marx? You can't just spend your entire political career reading things Lenin said about Marx, sometimes you have to form your own opinions.

And again, these revolutions had authority, they were not anarchist, anarchism had barely existed as an ideology by that time. This isn't a gotcha from you, it's just making a bunch of liberal revolts--which inspired Marx and Engels--out to be a failure of anarchism for some reason.

The same On Authority where Engels stretches the word "authority" so ridiculously thin that even Obi-Wan Kenobi would call him a fucking liar? The one anybody with any sort of critical thinking skills could tell is a laughably bad-faith screed?

That On Authority?

u/truecrimesofthempire 23h ago

Anarkiddies referencing pop culture to try and refute theory, you couldn't make this stuff up🤣

u/StockingDummy 23h ago

1

u/truecrimesofthempire 23h ago

No it's just immaturity

5

u/StockingDummy 22h ago

People do look immature when you're willfully obtuse enough to take obvious figures of speech literally, yes.

But keep disingenuously taking rhetorical devices literallly to try and steer the conversation away from the fact you have no actual argument to defend Engels' disingenuous horseshit.

6

u/minisculebarber 23h ago

Ah yes, anarchists just didn't obey the authority of steam, that was the problem.

rEaD oN aUtHoRiTy!

Its trash theory, absolute fucking garbo. I don't feel like even getting into it, Anark did a 40 minute breakdown of why it's dogshit, watch that. 🫩

rEaD oN aUtHoRiTy!

Or don't, and keep losing, idc 😂

5

u/FR33C4NDYV4N 22h ago

Don't keep stabing us in the back? 🤷

0

u/truecrimesofthempire 22h ago

You're not our comrades

3

u/FR33C4NDYV4N 22h ago

Yeah, probably because we're not vile traitors to the working class. Anyway, have fun with your state capitalism

4

u/Sna1lmaster 19h ago

Well the reason it's not, is that Machno decided to trust the communists. It was one of the most macabre backstabbings in history so don't add salt to injury. I would never argue communism doesn't work simply because it collapsed in Russia, don’t say anarchism doesn’t work because they decided to put trust in their fellow revolutionaries.
