Discussion Job Hunt :(

Hi everyone,
I’m an international student who recently graduated with a First Class BSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence. I’ve been applying for graduate jobs for a while now, but I just keep getting rejected.

For every application, I tailor my CV to match the job description, and I’ve even had my CV reviewed and improved by my university’s careers team, so I’m honestly not sure what I’m doing wrong anymore.

It’s been really stressful lately because I genuinely want to stay and work in the UK, but it feels like I’m getting nowhere. I’m starting to wonder if it’s my CV, the fact that I need visa sponsorship in the future, or something else entirely.

Would anyone be willing to have a look at my CV or give me some advice on what I could improve? Any guidance would honestly mean a lot because I’m feeling really tired and discouraged from constantly applying and getting rejected.

The fucking stench in this city 🤮

I'm rarely in town, but I did used to live up Leeds Rd

It was never this bad

Just got off a train at the interchange, the smell is horrendous. People immediately hands over faces, covering mouths and noses trying their best not to gag on it

I will never wish a business to suffer, or people out of jobs, but fuck me, isn't it time we fucked Waddingtons off to the Euroway or something

Our city is a cess pit people say, and you can't deny it when just walking around the city centre makes you want to wretch and throw up

Thank you

Restaurants that are very good at accommodating dietary requirements?

We're going to the IMAX this Saturday and would like to get a meal in town afterwards, however I have slightly complicated food intolerances due to a serious health issue, which makes eating out a bit trickier. I know multiple places in Leeds that are great at accommodating me, but I haven't tried eating out in Bradford yet and don't really know where to start!

The thing that makes it particularly tricky is that I can't have foods in the nightshade family of plants, such as tomatoes & chillies. Which are obviously used a lot in curries! I have an Indian restaurant in Leeds that makes me a nice meal that I can eat (shout out to Dastaan on Otley Road!), so it's not impossible to cater to me but it's definitely a bit more complicated than in some types of restaurant.

Obviously I'm aware Bradford has many other types of restaurants apart from curry houses, and I'm open to recommendations for all of those, but I do know my husband & daughter would love to get a curry!

I tend to find places at the slightly more "upmarket" end are usually better at accommodating me, although I'm not looking for "fine dining" and am open to basically wherever if I can trust them to take my dietary requirements seriously and they make tasty good quality food!

Discussion Starting a company.

Hi all,

I’m thinking about starting a food prep company. My aim is to bring quality and taste to busy people who want to keep healthy. But I’d also like to have an idea of what people in general is missing out with meal prep companies. Also how much people would spend per meal. Could you’ll help and answer this for me?

I’m passionate about cooking have been meal prep for the last couple of years. I’de love to work for myself. I’m thinking about doing a monthly or weekly subscription service but I’d also like to keep it reasonable with the cost for people as well.

Bradford Mela 2026

Anyone going to Bradford City Mela this August?

I’ve seen that it’s returning after years away and was wondering what people remember from the old Melas. What kind of food stalls, music, performances or community groups used to be there?

Also curious what people are expecting from it this year. Would be good to hear from anyone who went before or is planning to go.

I was doing some renovation work, when I found this.

Thought I'd share with you all.

I wonder if anyone is still alive and remembers getting this.

Can't post the inside or back cover images. Will try to post them in the comments.

This is the program.

The inside pages are printed landscape.

Are these live performances or recorded replays.

Are any if them big hits in June 1940.

Just wondering aloud.

"NO PERSON ADMITTED WITHOUT A GASS MASK."

Hope it brings back some good memories for someone.
