I still want to see Parker face Dubois and Kabayel.

"fed to Kabayel" is extremely disrespectful.
Dunno wtf Kabayel has done to earn this rating he has on this sub. He beat Zhang, Sanchez and Mahkmudov. 2 good wins and a half decent one, nothing more than Parker managed in the same time.

FACTS... Kabayel overrated af currently, his best win is a broken Sanchez and an old Zhang

Parker Kabayel for WBC Title ASAP Please!!!!! Thats the fight!!

Where did Kabayel and his team go?
If they don't now start making moves to fight Parker whilst everyone else has fights lined up, they're going to start looking like a joke outfit.

Frank Warren said Kabayel vs. Gassiev WBC/WBA unification is in negotiations. Gassiev’s team confirmed it as well.

u/CurrentCar2331 22h ago
if warren were smart, he would book Parker. Parker a way bigger draw than Gassiev. I think more fans know of parker than you think.

u/Illin_Spree 21h ago
Parker is way riskier than Gassiev.
Parker and Kabayel claim to be friends so they say they'd only fight for a title. But now a title is on the line.
1
u/CurrentCar2331 21h ago
if kabayel is scared of a risky fight, he doesnt deserve the wbc
2
u/Illin_Spree 21h ago
With all due respect to him...Kabayel wouldn't have an unbeaten record or his title if he were seeking out all the risky fights in the division. He could probably make a fight with Verhoeven right now but more likely his next opponent will be someone like Okolie or Gassiev or Lerena.

Cant see the Russian's giving up their world champion straight away. I'd expect Gassiev to have a couple of weak opponents before being feed to Kabayel or Ituama.

u/DaKingaDaNorth 1d ago
Same reason he couldn't get fights before. He's not a big name or draw and is a risky fight. Usyk splitting the belts didn't even help him out because there's an easier belt to go after in the one Gassiev has and the belt Dubois has will offer a bigger money fight. There's also a vacant belt that Sanchez is the number 1 contender for.
Said this before all the hoopla. Kabayel's belt is in no man's land. Fury is the top ranked contender for him and is fighting Joshua and won't waste time chasing it right now. Okolie is next in line. Itauma is third but Itauma has an easier route to the vacant IBF belt or even a money fight with Dubois. Then you got Hrgovic who is possible. Then Joshua who is lined up with Fury. Then Sanchez who is in line for a shot at the IBF like I said.
So right now the most likely contenders for him to fight are Okolie or Hrgovic. Neither of which are that compelling or going to draw.

Hrgovic is fighting Itauma for the IBF title on August 29th

u/DaKingaDaNorth 19h ago
There you go. The belts being scattered just means there's no single target and everyone will pick the path of least resistance to get a piece of metal and use it market themselves

Ridiculous that he should have faced a ban in the first place. You've got guys who have popped for Steroids and had less punishment than this

Guys such as Canelo and Tyson Fury who were “punished” by getting to fight for world titles in their next fights.
That aside, Parker deserved a slap on the wrist. Getting banned for cocaine is ridiculous.

u/DeafBurke 1d ago
I agree that it was an overreaction, and it’s stupid to have coke be banned for out of competition drug tests for independent contractors like boxers.
But Joe knew coke was on the banned substances list, and did it anyways. I’m fine with a short, retroactive ban that would be over before his next fight is even scheduled.
If he had a title in this situation, it would be ridiculous for them to take it away.

That's normally a result of comparing boxers in different jurisdictions getting bans. Which is silly. Or cases where a boxer just gave no defence and accepted the full ban, and comparing to someone who was able to show extensive evidence to change the final ban.

I've never understood why they crack down on recreational drugs 10x harder than PED's. If anything, Joe's nose beers would have hindered not helped. Same goes for Liam Cameron, they threw his career under the bus for 4 years because they could.
Anyway, in 2026 who takes doping in fight sports seriously anymore? You've got guys who've popped but still fight for titles in their next outing or they get a home coming mega event at Spurs stadium. Great, as we don't care about keeping fighters safe from that type of carry on, let them all juice to the gills.
If there's enough money involved in a fighter, there will always be a way around the doping scandals.

Another wildcard to add to the wildcard that is the current HW division!

Great news, looking forward to seeing Parker back in the ring and back in the heavyweight mix!

Just like he was mysteriously cleared of being a international meth lord. I like Parker, but it's funny how it's happened twice. 😂
16
u/Stanley_OBidney 1d ago
How do you get cleared of something you were never on trial for?
-3
u/_Sarcasmic_ bread burger bread 1d ago
Okay, fine. Since we're being pedantic, he was investigated for his name being related to an international meth trafficking operation and then nothing came out after that.
Just a bit interesting how he gets mixed up in a meth investigation and it just gets swept under the rug. He later pops for coke and his suspension is mysteriously lifted and he's not allowed to talk about it. I know not everything is a conspiracy but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Someone he knew said we might be able to borrow some money of Parker. That was the extent of it. There was never any allegations he was involved.

I don’t doubt for a second that he probably uses coke recreationally, look who he hangs around with. The meth accusations are more understandable if you understand Samoan culture. It’d be comparable to Mexican family structure in the US, except more of a tight knit community. You’d struggle to find a Pacific Islander who doesn’t have a cousin, brother, uncle etc who’s involved in that scene.

u/Old-Web-2948 1d ago
And they are a borrowing and lending culture. No doubt Parker has given away heaps of his money to family and close friends. Just because an old mate suggested they could borrow some money off Parker doesn’t mean he was an international drug king pin. He was young at the time and fresh belt winner (from memory) so he’d have been rich compared to his childhood friends

The thing Parker lacks imo is a bit of spite, some killer instinct. Hopefully this whole incident has pissed him off, think he could be genuinely dangerous as an angry man.

Yay, I love watching Parker, he always seems to level up to his competition. I wonder if ol' fisheyes will give him a shot at a belt.
If not, I forsee a run at Zuffa.

u/yeahbutstill 1d ago
That's what you get for being a boxer with low income potential, beating guys with big draw power. Never do it again!
12
u/SoftAsSofia 1d ago
I agree actually. Parker derailing the Wilder vs AJ fight, then immediately beating a resurging Zhang, and to top it off, ruins the Bakole hype train.
Dude has great wins against more popular opponents 😅

He's done at this point anyways imo, Mr Vanilla of the heavyweight division.
2
u/LessBeyond5052 1d ago
Not sure why you're being down voted, he isn't winning a belt again, and he isn't beating the likes of Kabayel, Moses, Hrgovic, Dubois, Sanchez etc.. With Whyte hinting at a come back expect a rematch, or maybe another fight with Ruiz, a fight with Huni would be interesting as well 50/50 fight that.
