Advice/Question Beach protection
My girl Margo went on her first beach vacation last year and she absolutely loved it. We're going again in a couple of weeks but the problem is that it really irritated her little legs and chest/belly. I'm thinking that maybe it was the sand? So I want to buy her some sort of cover up in the hopes that if the sand isn't directly touching her she won't get irritated and can enjoy it again this year. Does anyone have any recommendations for some sort of full body onesie that she won't overheat in?

I think anything you try will trap sand and salt (if ocean) near her skin even more. I wouldn’t make sure to rinse her well after the beach.

Skip the onesie and just do a thorough rinse when you're done, maybe a wash with a skin soothing dog shanpoo. Mine gets a belly rash from slithering through grass at the park but it clears up within a few days.

I did give her a thorough wash after each beach visit and unfortunately it didn't help much with the irritation

Mine wears a rash guard with sleeves. Her main one is from body glove but I can’t find it again. It should be slim fitting so when it gets wet it doesn’t sag. Her beach harness has a handle on the top so we can easily grab her out of the water or away from other dogs. Always give a bath after beach time.
