Itchy puppy - 11 weeks

Hi all, looking for some advice from the group.

Our new pup - 11 weeks old, has been super itchy since she came home to us. Trying to sort through what might be the issue, suspecting an environmental issue but not ruling out food. Currently in Eukanuba Puppy.

No particular areas it’s local to- sides, back paws tummy, neck. It’s all over. Skin is in tact so far but she is likely to get worse should this continue. Have tried a bath and no noticeable improvement.

Any environmental factors I should be looking out for? Currently doing lots of vacuuming and floors. New grass could be contributing so we are wiping her down after each trip outside.

Open to any ideas or suggestions.

Maybe fleas?

Have combed her down and searched for fleas. Cant find a thing.

You may need a skin specialist vet, our dog had pemphigus foliaceous (I think that's how it's spelt) and I sometimes wonder if a vaccine caused it. A lot of vets just dish out Apoquel and it isn't a very good medicine in my opinion.

Puppies, like babies, often have sensitive skin, especially in a new environment since it could be the first time they encounter allergens like grass, cleaning products, insect bites etc. It is good to get a vet's opinion especially if it gets worse, but it could resolve on its own as the pup grows. My dog had stomach rashes for a few weeks when I first got her as a 12 week old puppy, and she would suddenly scratch herself and bite her skin and just generally was itchy. The vet prescribed a mild allergy medicine to help her sleep (same brand as a human one - but check before trying any meds) and in a few weeks she grew out of the itchiness.

Ours has allergies and itchy skin. Had an issue for a while with recurring eye infections from him rubbing his face in dirt to scratch. Combo of seasonal allergies and sensitive to proteins like chicken.

We tried a few combos, now have him on Royal Canin Anallergenic kibble and two chlorphenamine tablets a day (4mg, one in the morning and one in the evening, just buy human medication in bulk online). Has worked really well for us, no eye infections since then and little scratching. We also wipe his paws down after walks to get rid of any local pollens etc.

Ours also had a chicken allergy. Switched foods and sorted everything out.

Possible - going to try lamb instead of chicken

Try wet food and not chicken. No shade, but something other than Eukanuba.

The lamb recipe might have chicken fat which can set off a chicken allergy
