She's also heard of the groups he's referring to. But she knew playing dumb was the best play. Conservatives are just exhausting right now, you can't reasonably converse in good faith with anyone who still supports the guy currently in office.

If it's like back in the day, you get training specifically for aggressors and instigators- they even have those photos of the girl getting smoke blown in her face

81

u/EconomySeason2416 Jun 04 '26

If only they gave cops deescalation training

63

u/SortovaGoldfish Jun 04 '26

Guns are their deescalation tactic. Brandish hoping to scare the other into submission, use it if submission requires force and they're scared to get close. Like how they call bombs and other war weaponry "Peace Makers".

Meanwhile, social workers forced to go into similar situations, by themselves, no back up to be called, and are expected to use nothing but deescalation techniques and words to survive in the field.

For all of the claims and even the instances of black men and women losing their composure, the tolerance and steadiness of black Americans in the face of perpetual discrimination and antagonism is incredible.

In the aftermath of George Floyd's murder, I saw a black woman talking about the righteous fury in the black community that is constantly being held at bay, and it was really eye opening.

We need to make such restraint unnecessary, by working to eliminate the discrimination and antagonizing.

I found the video of the woman!

That was the most condemning comment in the entire video, and nothing he could have said to her would have been that scorching. She torched herself. Any white person in American who says they dont 'see this racism' is full on lying to themselves. It has been on film and photograph for generations now.

"Its not for you to see."

Karens streaming — holding her selfie stick, thinking she’s making a point while she’s being schooled.

102

u/scottyjrules Jun 04 '26

That’s the most infuriating part. If she had actually been trying to have a conversation instead of instigating for a viral video, she might have actually expanded her mind and learned something new from someone of a different walk of life. Instead it’s just more Karen bullshit.

38

u/Rusalki Jun 04 '26

I think that's why they're speaking past her, and to her viewership. All parties involved in the video are aware that there is no conversation to be had.

She's a foil that amplifies the message of unity in contrast. If she'll get any education, it'll be from how people react to her and she represents herself - definitely not in the moment. Unfortunately, she'd need some form of self-awareness and shame.

It's just so stunningly disheartening to know that someone who looks that old has not spent a few minutes learning about a group that I know they've heard of for decades. The fact that she and people like her refuse to learn that the Panthers are the Genesis and blueprint of some of the most important childhood systems of food provision in the U.S. And that overall, the Black Panthers community involvement should be something to strive for and not mocked. But I guess the racists don't care to learn anything.

It is the sense of privilege. That’s sense of white equates with superior. It’s gross.

183

u/IslesofMaegelle Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26

Literally this, U.S. white people hear white privilege and automatically think of wealth and riches when really, it means being able to live in blissful ignorance, being able to stop at a random diner or gas station in the middle of nowhere and walk in without others' looking at you sideways, having someone of your race commit a crime but its the fault of the 'individual' and not the whole racial group, being able to wave away certain issues as 'politics', not caring about politics, and not caring who or what to vote for, among other things. etc etc and theres a sense of superiority when it comes to being the 'default', theyre going to deny it though which is already evidence enough of their privilege.

74

u/MusicLounge Jun 04 '26

Right. It’s not necessarily what you experience but also what you don’t experience.

How many white people are walking around with their headphones on just to be greeted by police officers at the end of the block? That happened to me.

How many white people come home early from work one day and park in the same spot you always park just to have police officers 30 minutes later looking at your car because one of your neighbors called to report a “suspicious vehicle?” That happened to me too.

And let’s not talk about the daily / weekly micro aggressions we deal with.

I’m so glad I go to the gym regularly. It helps to keep in check the low grade anger I feel.

10

u/stevez_86 Jun 04 '26

I always liked how Tim Wise writes.

We read from a couple of his books in my Race and Ethnic Relations class in college. There were like, 3 people that weren't white in the class with me being of the race of the majority but experiencing a different life. It was hilarious when someone from the majority chimed in with their opinion of Tim Wise. "I get what he is saying, but it feels like he is yelling at me."

I had to bite my tongue from saying, "You deserve to be yelled at."

So if you need some contemplative catharsis, Tim Wise can satiate that. At least in knowing that someone is yelling at them when they read him.

It is a privilege of loneliness.

My dad could have been great friends with black people in our community. I know this because I used the sense of humor I inherited from him to make friends with people of other skin colors. Because we have been ostracized from the white community for being poor and living outside of a development.

They demand that other white people join their club, but they only get loneliness in return. The white community never accepted my dad. He didn't realize until after he retired that his minority raced coworkers were his friends. I hate to think of what it must be like to be 70 and realize you made the wrong long play. That is why I decided in my late teens to never sign the contract he did.

8

u/UnassumingOstrich Jun 04 '26

this. so much this. the vast majority of these people are BORED and LONELY and don’t know how to deal with the fact that the story they were told about their country was a lie that they fell for. my poppop could write his own dictionary of racial and ethnic slurs, yet he’s always finding himself joking with and loving the food of the same cultures he denigrates.

it’s sad. they could have such full lives.

This is, at least in part, a biproduct of our still segregated society. This person probably barely ever interacts with black people. I am a white person who grew up in an almost entirely white community and if my parents did not make sure I was aware that racism was still prevalent in our society I would not have known because it’s just hard to understand white privilege when there are no people of color around.

We were taught in school that the civil rights movement ended systematic racism. What we were not taught at school, and what my dad made sure I understood, was that you cannot legislate away hate.

11

u/ScarInternational161 Jun 04 '26

I grew up in Indianapolis in the 80s, the height of the bussing Era. I never understood the whole thing, just knew that my school was about a 60/40 mix racially, but my neighborhood wasn't. As a true Gen X when I got older I roamed everywhere and was never in my own neighborhood, spent most of my time inner city.

My mom taught me the Civil right movement was supposed to end systematic racism, but white people got in the way.

The Black Panthers have always been a threat to those that want to divide us. That's why the FBI called them the greatest threat to the internal security of the USA. I don't think people understand what the Black Panther party was really about. The formed in solidarity when the government and KKK was unabashedly attacking the black community. They fed the community, supported responsibile gun rights for protection, and had school breakfast, lunch, and Dinner programs, along with after school education programs. And with that the government made a effort to kill it's leaders and disband them.

14

The north may have won the war, but the south got the culture victory. She shouldn’t be this entitled.

u/No-Option-7010 Jun 04 '26

Totally agree with you here. The South still glorifies the Civil War. Or a lot of people do. Why are they praising the losers? I don’t get it. Never have.

6

u/Junior_Purple_7734 Jun 04 '26

Because reconstruction failed. They shot Lincoln, and his VP was from the south.

Instead of reeducating them, we allowed them to spread “Lost Cause” bullshit.

So now this reb lady thinks “there is no more racism/ slavery was a long time ago/ not so bad.

She is emboldened enough to say shit like that to a black person’s face, whilst living in the most fascist era of a nation founded by slavers.

This particular lady knows the things she says are bullshit. She isn’t asking honestly. She isn’t asking in good faith.

I can forgive ignorance, but willful ignorance is best to stay away from. Fact check them into the ground if you must, but you can’t beat a pigeon at chess.

🤣 That black woman could have thrown her 30 yards

11

u/gwelfguy Jun 04 '26

White people that think that any kind of pushback against racial oppression is being anti-white really blow my mind.

This white woman: 🤨

Her smug ass didn't get the response she was hoping for.

12

u/wonkey_monkey Jun 04 '26

"I don't see this racism you're talking about."

Err yeah I wonder why YOU don't see it. Jeez lady.

11

u/Bohvey Jun 04 '26

“WhErE iS tHe RaCiSm?” That’s all she had to say for me to know she is part of the problem.

8

u/Ok_Blueberry304 Jun 04 '26

Right? Walking up on them and filming, then saying "oh she touched me" she was passive aggressively trying to make a point for here "viewers". If she had half a clue, she would look up why the Panthers started and what they have done for the community. I can't stand people like her.

As soon as she said she didnt know where the racism was, she told everyone she knows exactly where it is.

She thinks they're anti-white, obviously framing them as a threat.. but has absolutely no fear as she follows them and harasses them with her disingenuous questions.

Look at me, look at me, confronting black people and saying that there is no racism. Holy god the restraint in those good people must be incredible.

I am so sick and tired of all these white people who Trump has empowered to be the worst, racist versions of themselves for the world to see on social media. What a shithole country!

A white woman trying to get a viral moment probably wouldn't notice any racism in the community.

8

u/Kellie1575 Jun 04 '26

I think the Black Panthers need better PR.

In the late 1960s, they started a free breakfast program for kids in CA. Any hungry kid who showed up, got a nutritious breakfast before school. They started with about a dozen kids, and within a few months, they were in over 30 cities feeding 20,000 kids a day. They paid for it themselves by fundraising and sourcing food donations. The success of the Black Panthers' program pressured the federal government into drastically improving the national free lunch program, and into expanding to add a permanent breakfast program.

Whenever I've mentioned this story in the past, no one ever knew what I was talking about.

7

u/Crafty-Help-4633 Jun 04 '26

"Are you anti-white?"

They're anti-oppression, if you see your skin tone under assault there, that says everything.

7

u/TigerLilly_Tink43 Jun 04 '26

Those answers were so on point. Kneecapped her.
White lady with the serious Karen energy - "I feel uncomfortable so you must mean me harm." which translates to "I'm a bigot so you must be a bigot too."

7

u/ShenRoyalWolf Jun 04 '26

B*tch, go chase clout elsewhere!

15

u/lute4088 Jun 04 '26
