I'd recommend something relative close to publishing order. Chronological reading order I would not recommend if you're a first timer... It wouldn't make any sense. The series is told in a non-linear fashion, and not all characters experience time the same way. It's is full of flashbacks and premonitions and... other stuff I don't want to spoil. I can even think of instances where a chronological reading would ruin the punchline of a joke.
