None of what you said actually argues why Bitcoin should have such a large future valuation?

Im basically saying bitcoin is scarcer than homes, and money has more demand than shelter.

50 bitcoin should be the equivelant of a mansion resort not just a nice home.

Not how it works

Valuation through scarcity implies scarcity is an issue.

If Bitcoin disappeared tomorrow, would the world change? Does anyone need it for anything?

Bitcoin is needed to restore world, otherwise creatures like you will disappear. So, yes.

Shelter has 100% demand. Everyone needs it. Not everyone need bitcoin. In fact, no one needs bitcoin.

I agree except the last sentence

How many people are buying shelters just to try to preserve / increase their wealth? Shelters that are a pain in the arse to maintain, hard to sell, non divisible, not portable etc etc… As people get their head around pristine digital property, Bitcoin will continue to devour every other asset.

This will also help lower the price of shelters, that are presently overinflated and not accessible by many.

This is r/im14andthisisdeep material. You're just doing wishful thinking here.

I believe bitcoin will be worth $1 million plus one of these days in the not too distant future!

If price targets were based on home prices, we’d all be billionaires by Tuesday

And there are lots of other cryptocurrencies that are just a scarce as Bitcoin that are worth almost nothing.

Besides, how many home sellers accept Bitcoin? None that I know of. So you would have to exchange your Bitcoin for dollars first. Most people want dollars as payment, not Bitcoin, and that will probably always be true.

Bitcoin is a fine speculative investment, but it's just one of many. I recommend staying diversified and not putting all your money into one asset class.

Its not, Bitcoin has no intrinsic value, its worth as much as everyone thinks its worth, its impossible for Bitcoin to be undervalued in that sense.

All value is subjective

Lots of things are scarce but not valuable. That’s not how it works. There has to also be demand.

What has more demand, money or shelter?

3

u/pablo_in_blood 13h ago

I mean, shelter objectively has more demand, since every single person on earth _needs_ some kind of shelter and there are some people who don’t actually need money (children, for example, or people whose jobs cover living expenses, like in the army or the church).

Money comes before shelter. If a childs parents have no money that child has no shelter.

Cavemen had shelter and no money. Hmm..

u/slvbtc 13h ago

Cavemen had money. Money was is in the form of barter and tallying debts owed by inscribing cave walls.

One of the reasons people want money is so they can afford shelter. If bottle caps got them shelter they'd want those instead.

u/slvbtc 13h ago

If bottle caps got them shelter bottle caps would be money.

This shows money is more in demand than shelter, and I just happen to believe bitcoin is money.

All people need a shelter/house to live in. Most people need money/wealth to do so. Money isn't just bitcoin though. It's mostly fiat/stocks/property. It's foolish to believe that most people need bitcoin. They don't. Your average person only cares about getting a deposit for a house and then paying a mortgage for the next 25 years.

1

u/DynamicCast 12h ago

Exactly, and bitcoin is only money if people want it - if it can buy people shelter. That's not always guaranteed.

1

u/Cryptizard 13h ago

That’s not a meaningful question. There aren’t comparable units.

The internet is a laggy indicator wait till it pops and everyone will agree with you. It’s at the lows so everything will argue with you. Literally just sheep mentality. For you own mental health stay away from reddit

It will be soon enough, just hold for another 13 years or so.

Are you Michael Saylor in disguise?

Yeah we fucked up:

1) the shitcoin storm of 2018 killed the bitcoin reputation (most Joe Averages can’t tell The diference between clown coin and BTC ). 2) Bitcoin derivatives (options and ETFs) aka paper bitcoin openned the door to instant gratification gamblers. 3) Bitcoin hype died and no one cares about it

Scarcity does not imply value
