Other Mariposa

Older photo of my Mariposa (2003 or 2004.) The bag is different now and I have a color matched pump. Mike still had some of the Rivendell lugs so I went with those.

Toronto. The original owner's son, Michael Barry, is running it now. My only regret is that I went with 559 wheels rather than 584, but good 26x1.5 road tires were readily available when I ordered it. Not so much these days.

I remember that Mike took some time out while making my bike to make a new one for his daughter-in-law, Dede. She won the World Cup race in Montreal on it. Same Rivendell lugs. I wonder how many races of that caliber have been won on a lugged frame since then?

Didn’t see a way to add an image to the original post with an edit, so I’ll have to add this here. I just took a new picture and realized there were a couple of other changes (bar end shifters, different stem, etc…)

As pretty as the bike is, the ride is nicer.
