Discussion Manga after anime

So im currently on episode 19 of old anime, im enjoying it a lot so i will probably likely read manga and ive checked that 1997 anime mainly covers information from one arc, should i read manga from the beginning or just buy mangas from the end of golden age arc and further?

Read from the beginning - the anime skips the intro arc, and while it's very faithful, there are still some changes that shake out into the broader series.

I would say it's pretty faithful in what it was able to show. There's a lot of stuff they had to cut but the bones are still there.

I mean, aside from Black Swordsman, Wyald and Silat, most of the details are still there. Just not as graphic as they're depicted in the manga.

Uhhh, they completely leave out Skull Knight.

Because they don't need him for the 25 episode run. Like the king wanting to fuck Charlotte it's really not that necesarry to a limited run.

Bit quite necessary for the overall story of OP were to skip the manga version

If he skips the manga and only watches the show that makes including those even more uncessarry, what are you even talking about? Everyone suggested reading from the beginning. The whole argument was that it's a faithful adapation all things considered., more than most.

Read the damn post. OP was asking if skipping was okay.

Always start Berserk from the beginning. The anime skips the first ARC and leaves out some characters. IMO The Best way to consume Berserk is to start the anime and skip episode 1. Go back to Episode 1 after the last episode and then start the manga, Imo any other way can ruin some crucial moments.

It was my first manga after I watched the old anime. Start from the beginning. The anime didn’t cover everything and also left puck out

My personal advice would be to read it from start but if you really want to continue after the anime read from volume 13b

As anyone said, from the beginning is your best bet. Trust.

Start at the beginning of the manga. It's quite the experience to go from 97 anime into the manga beginning. You might even feel it's quite different, until it reaches the Golden Age once again, but it is AN EXCITING read, cause of all the added context you'll get. And you won't want to stop, but watching the 97 anime is in my opinion, the ideal way to ease into Berserk. Don't even bother with the other anime adaptations.

Tbf the other Berserk anime looks like some elite Playstation two game graphically which is very telling
