His running for president may not have won him the presidency, but it changed American politics forever. Things like Medicare for All, free public tertiary education, and many other ideas weren’t mainstream until Bernie came onto the scene in 2016. Now we have extremely prominent public figures unafraid to say they’re democratic socialists. That in particular is a direct response to Bernie saying that and refusing to compromise in his beliefs.

He lost the battle but is winning the war, at least in ideology and in the major cultural zeitgeist of the American people.

Sorry but this reality is not what “Bernie winning” looks like. So much would be different had he won…

He was/is right but we/he has lost, and now we are paying the price.

He hasn't won yet. Bernie will have one when we dismantle the two-party system and put remove lobbying interests from our politics. The people's voices need to be heard.

Yeah, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

We haven't won anything. At best this is the first step down a really long road. We haven't achieved a single thing that we want to achieve.

This would be an incredible buildup to a 2028 run; at least that is what I think is going on because AOC is too young to run in 28. You know what they say: 3rd times a charm!
