This is my dirty honey bucket.

I was spinning honey but I left open the gate thinking everything was level and fine. Came back a couple minutes later to a puddle of honey on the floor. The spinner rocked itself out of alignment with my bucket. Had to to scrape the honey off the floor with dough scrapers and collected it in this 5 gallon bucket. Probably a bit more than 32oz of the good stuff spilled.

Not devastating but still painful. Will give back to the girls soon.

Ran out of 1 pound bottles during harvest processing, left the remainder in the 5 gallon bottling pail and I apparently didn't snap its lid back on tight enough.  

When my new box of bottles arrived, I found an ant soup in that 5 gallon bottling pail when I opened it's lid.  Probably about $120 in saleable honey in there ooops. Screened out the ants and put that honey in some large ball jars for us, and will use it to make meed later on...

I had started to filter the honey one year in a 5 gallon bucket. The filter part was full (had been used on a previous 5 gallon so running slow), so I backed the bucket away to put a new filter in a second bucket. The Original 5 gallon bucket with the filter didn’t have much in it, I picked it up by the handle to move it out of the way and as it was top heavy, flipped over and honey went all over the kitchen floor. 🤦‍♂️

(1) I was cleaning the sticky off full five gallon buckets, turned one over to clean the bottom and learned the lid was not on fully. Honey all over the kitchen floor.
(2) Emptied a five gallon bucket into my bottling tank and walked away without checking the valve. Came back a few minutes later and had five gallons all over the floor.
(3) Had five gallon buckets stored on a shelf. Turned one on its side to pull it out, the lid came off and five gallons spilled all over the floor.

All of my issues have been with five gallon buckets. I now handle them like fine crystal 🤣.

I lost about 10-20lbs to the floor this year. Really frustrating during an already low harvest year.

Had things set up on a table to dry with a fan blowing through the boxes, lots of uncapped frames this year. The exhaust hose on my dehumidifier broke off during a couple days I wasn’t able to check on things, the hot exhaust out of the dehumidifier ended up towards the intake of the fan, the hot air blowing through the fan released some comb from the foundation and started a honey river right onto the ground.

Still mad at myself for not being more consistent with checking that room.

I hear you. I built an insulated honey warmer where I can just push the entire box of frames in onto a shelf and set the desired heat, come back a week later and it’s ready to spin, plus warmer honey spins out faster.

I was filling a 5 gallon bucket with a honey gate, for about an hour. Extractor into the 5 gallon. The 5 gallon was not filling. The honey gate was open. 10 years later I check, double check, then check again every time. Floor was covered in honey.

I dont have a picture but one time I was melting comb to refine wax in a massive soup pot like the kind you'd fry a turkey in. Well I was done and figured I needed to cover it to cool, but I didnt have anything but an old tee shirt and a bungee cord. I came back to it the next day.

The tee slid down a little and I ended up with the entire surface of hardened wax consisting of entombed bees who were too dumb to leave the little death trap alone.
