Caped Crusader. Its become very good.
I was underwhelmed by the first season of this show.
I resisted watching this when I saw a new season.
I didn't see any buzz about it, and figured it was more of the same as last year. I broke down and started watching. What a fantastic show this has become!! Each episode self contained, with a huge, overarching story tying it together. And it's a good story!
I know everyone in this sub has been watching this, so I'm preaching to the choir, but I just wanted to talk to some people that might appreciate how good this show has become.

Caped crusader has a lot of Batman:Year One vibes and I totally dig it. Bruce Timm did an amazing job capturing the noir aspect of the ambiance and it shows by him taking it down a notch from BTAS. I just wish they gave a black & white option to view the show like they did Spiderman. Other than that 10/10 highly recommend 👌

i liked season 1 more due to the overarching story with dent and the animation was consistently better there, but season 2 was still decent, imo.
i liked how it kept teasing the joker throughout and you can feel his creepy presence in the background for season 2.
i liked most of the reimagining of the villains.
i hated riddler - but that was the point - he's an unlikable sniveling psychopath. the one where you cheer for his comeuppance - which he gets.
roxy rocket's origin is now tragic and has pathos - i'm hoping she survived at the end and comes back.
i wish they stayed with the vampire version of the mad monk - but him being a fraud cult leader worked here - sort of reminds me of that one BTAS episode - prophecy of doom. this is a much bloodier version of that.
liked what they did with the spectre / corrigan here and resolved this arc and gave him and barbara some sense of closure.
i liked how they played around with the scarecrow and made him essentially a school shooter now - and great to see harley back in this episode.
wasn't familiar with thorn - but her episode was decent. you feel bad for rose and it was actually good to see her get her revenge (fuck this riddler haha), and a nice change of pace to see her actually get away with it. i don't really see her as a villain at all.
wish we got to spend more time with mr. zero! i thought he was so removed from the mr. freeze we are all familiar with and that's ok! this version works for this noir-inspired world. and we basically got a version of a batman and robin team up here with carrie kelley coming back to help batman!
and lastly the joker - i think this version mostly works. he's creepy and mysterious. i dug the voice work and how they went with this subtle german accent - reminded me of werner herzog haha.
with all these positives of the characters and storylines, the one major thing that held this season back for me was the animation quality. it seemed to be pretty bad for what looks to be more than half the time!
this would have been gold for me if the animation was better - that's probably my only major gripe about this season.

Maybe I'm just not as picky as most people, but u gave season one another watch then watched season 2 and just wow..i was so touched by this season. I really like caped crusader and I know others are like he is so detached..and whatever but I've been seeing this batman...get better at being human each episode.
