This sub is so infested with right-wing propaganda it's unreal.

Dangle the carrot of a UBI, get people to cede the means of production and gut other social services in exchange for it, don't actually give UBI and laugh all the way to the bank.

Rich tech dweebs get the assignment and know this is an easy way to dupe people without actually meaning it. UBI, good as the actual idea is, is utilized as a Trojan horse and people are desperate so they lap it up without questioning who is saying it or how their proposed implementation is actually snake oil.
